Not a McClain fan but he usually stands up for Kubes and I remember he was for Kubes keeping his job after 2010 season. When he starts saying Kubes needs to go....
Oh I agree completely, he's def part of why we lost but when it was on the line he made some solid throws that were just flat out bumbled away. My biggest issue now is that even though case still has 5 games to audition it's pretty damn clear that most of the players have checked out... Totally uninspired play across the board. Keenum has shown some pretty remarkable flashes but he's slowly being Texan'd to death. I'd be less concerned if I thought there were actually some sure fire can't miss qb prospects but I really don't see one IMO.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but fire Kubiak at the end of the season. We need this losing streak to keep going, so the Texans can get the number one pick. We don't want to risk players getting pumped up over Kubiak getting canned and go out and win a worthless game.
That's where McClain is now just looking out for his own job... and going with the public sentiment. The real problem is when journalists start acting like fans...
We're kind of experiencing a catch .22, actually. If we fire Kubiak right now, it might actually light a fire under the butts of some players who were lagging it, which might result in meaningless wins and a worse draft pick. If he stays, however, we'll have to look at his mopey-ass Eeyore face every Sunday until the offseason.
Looks like both the Vikings and Bucs are about to lose their leads, trying to keep pace with the Texans and Falcons.
Besides Watt, this team doesn't have enough guys with strong mental makeup or intestinal fortitude to "rally" around anything. The game plans would likely fall completely apart under Wade (instead of just being ineffective as they are now). Close games will turn into blowouts... embarrassment will turn full blown apathy.
They wanted to win one for Bum and Wade after Bum's death. Didn't happen. They wanted to win one for Gary after the mini-stroke. Didn't happen. Yeah, I have a hard time believing they'll all of a sudden get the nudge that pushes them to start winning if Kubes gets fired.
Yes. You can't mess with a losing streak this epic. We've got the #1 pick in the bag with Kubiak leading the charge.
Guys and gals, this team sucks too bad to be worrying about rallying behind Kubiak being fired and losing out on draft positioning. This team looks so bad that they probably couldn't win on accident at this point..
