Besides being able to make the quick pass on blitzes... being able to complete the quick timing/touch route is essential for red zone TD's.
I think the catalyst to Texans offense has been finally getting an adequate running game with Johnson. Its hard for any QB to be all that successful with suspect line play and running game. Johnson has come in and opened things up. They need to go for TD here instead of field goal, gutless Kubes strikes again.
Why don't we try to score immediately once we get in the redzone...we all know .the longer you're in the redzone the harder it becomes to score
Cowher agreed with Marino (and in effect, Kubiak's call last week) that they might try putting Schaub in for Keenum in the 2nd half today. Do ya'll still want him? Did he just fail the McNair interview test?
Teams who need a franchise QB and have a high draft pick rarely can afford to miss. But the odds are against you getting that franchise QB later on. You're almost always taking a chance drafting a QB with a high pick, but if you want a franchise guy, it's a chance you have to take (within reason). And if we're not in position to draft either Bridgewater or Mariota, I'm with you. I'm definitely not in the camp of taking a QB first no matter what. If those 2 QBs are gone then you take Clowney or Barr and look QB in the 2nd. But if we're high enough to take one of those two, I think you almost HAVE to take one.
For the same reason why they're constantly not attempting to score more points than the other team... as we all know, if they score more than the other team, they'll probably end up winning more games.

they just showed our Red Zone play calling, where only 1 person went to the ENDZONE last week on 4th down, everything else was short. THATS KUBIAK
Just not sold on either of those guys as well.... no more than Derek Carr (who likely will end up being good for somebody, only because that's how it goes for this team). Bridgewater = Leftwich Mariota = Joey Harrington
You do realize the point you're making is that Schaub actually got the team to the red zone whereas Keenum has struggled to do just that...
