Is bugging the American people tantamount to doing "your" part on the "war on terror"? Or can you accept that but not bugging Merkel's phone for security purposes? yeah, true on the chain of casuality here I don't know about the domestic reaction, but I imagine there must have been some people who were amused.
Supreme Court refuses to even consider EPIC challenge to NSA. On the same subject, information on what the NSA considers "metadata" was recently released but completely redacted. 3 totally black pages.
Sadly I do believe this Supreme Court making such a weak decision. They have the power to make lasting changes because we know that no president will. Too bad they passed up the chance.
Much of the current Supreme Court has shown a great deal of deference to the Executive in regard to national security issues. You are going to have to wait for another Supreme Court if you are expecting them to make major changes.
