I liked the idea of Anderson and Lopez for Asik when Lopez was still on the Pelicans. Lopez for Asik straight up is an obvious no. Portland would have to include their first lottery protected or an unprotected first in the future. I do like Wes Matthews though. He looks really good this season and I've always liked his game even when he was on the Jazz.

A dream scenario would be D-Mo/Asik/Garcia or Brewer for Matthews/Lopez.

Matthews is playing way too well now for it to even be an option but if they want CJ to have more minutes when he comes back and having Asik can push them over the top, which I think it could, Batum, LMA and Asik is an extremely balanced front court.

    Bev / Lin / Brooks
Harden / Matthews / (Brewer or Garcia)
Parsons / Casspi / (Brewer or Garcia)
    Jones / Casspi / Smith
    Howard / Lopez

You don't think Robin Lopez could become that impact player? (I assume that's who they'll give up if an Asik trade goes through).

I'm not sure why Lin is being brought up were not trying to trade Lin were trying to trade asik

Lin and asik is wayyyyyyy toooo much for deng

Looks like brooks would fit the same scenario you laid out

But can't be consemated till dec 15 if it's brooks

I suspect they want to make a move now

Lin is an asset. The team has too many guards and Lin's contract is too big. Plus Lin is the only one that has value worth moving for something of value in return.

Guys, Asik for Lopez straight up is a no-brainer. You do that deal twice if possible. getting a 1st round pick would be great also, but not necessary.

Lin is more valuable to the team. We are going to need Lin is his role if we are serious about contending.

Beverley is our only perimeter defender and a valuable defensive player, I doubt Morey is willing to trade him at this point.

I'm not saying Lin is not valuable here, but with Rose being out, I'd think the Bulls would probably rather have Lin over either Bev or Brooks. Rose is not going to come back the same player, I doubt he'll start attacking the basket anytime soon or be as aggressive as before, especially after this 2nd injury. Brooks can handle backup PG duties, but I would think they want a starting PG who can give them consistent offensive production in addition to being a creative playmaker.

Yes, the salary won't work as Deng for Asik + Lin, but the Bulls could throw in someone else to cover the gap.

I've never been in favor of trading Lin, but I'm just saying if I was the Chicago Bulls, Lin would make the most sense of all the PG options we have.

But I doubt Asik would want to go back to Chicago to backup Noah again, so this conversation is probably moot.

    CBL being CBL

Asik is 2x the player Lopez is. This would be trading waaay down in value, which Morey does not need to do because this team doesn't have any gaping holes other than perimeter defense which is relatively easy to solve with next offseason's MLE if a trade doesn't materialize this year.

I don't quite agree with that assesment. I've seen some of the Blazers two last games against the GW. Lopez is very good at offensive boards. In my opinion better than Asik, who may be better defensively. If the Rockets get Lopez and a 1st round pick for Asik, I would definitively go for it.

I wonder how much the Blazers are ready to change their roster. They are doing very well right now. They certainly wont give Matthews for anything. So let's be realistic.

A Lopez/Asik swap makes no sense and will never happen.

A pouty unhappy Asik is better than Lopez. Picks are worthless because we are clearly saving cap space for 2015 and that just gets in the way. There is no way Morey is throwing that away for a late first rounder.

If Asik is moved, it is for a significant contributor, not another backup center.

He's not only a poor fit but a bad player in general. Now if it was his brother then that would be a different story.

Never. CP3 is about as untradeable as LBJ or Kobe. The Clippers would never go for it, even if CP3 would, and the price would be way to high. Those players to make contracts work, plus a whole boatload of 1st rounders would be demanded by the paperClips. No way we ever get CP3

    Yes. No hesitation.

But for the thing with these trades is that I wouldn't want to mess up team chemistry.

Asik for Lopez is an idiot's move, which Murray is not.

R Lopez averaged 5 point something rebounds per game as a starter in N.O.

Trading down will never happen. Period.

Asik + TJones for starpower at PF is the scariest move...

Might be able to pry an unhappy superstar PF away?

But said superstar PF's don't look unhappy right now.

Might as well keep the BEST backup C in the NBA and let the blossoming TJones come to his own.

I see dmo mentioned in a lot of trades for ok or good players. There is no way I'd trade dmo. Not only could he really blossom as a player, but right now he has a superb post game and can step out and hit shots. He works hard and if you see the guy on the sidelines during games, he's always positive and upbeat cheering on the team.

Really, other than trading Asik for a wing player like Courtney lee to replace Garcia in the rotation, I like the team as is. And if Asik accepts his role as a back up, then that's great.

Yes and CBL sees Omer Asik barely in the rotation. Trading him for another viable back-up center who will be in the rotation makes sense. It doesn't matter if Asik is better than he is if he is coming here to be a back-up. Which is what we want Asik to be, but he does not want to cooperate.
This is the best trade possibility out there.
