I found something quite interesting..Shane Battier has zero turnovers in 12 games. I know it's early but he's averaging 22.7 min a game (which isn't a lot). He rarely turns the ball over for his career. I just thought it was interesting.
That's because Battier's turnovers aren't really turnovers. He strategically gives up the ball to opposing players when they are in situations in which they'll surely fail.
how would he turn it over anyways. when he receives the ball, he's probably open and just need to shoot it
Actually he's driven the ball a decent amount this season, more than I ever remember seeing. I'm shocked he hasn't picked up at least 1 charge for a TO.
This is mostly true. Battier will usually make the safe play which, for him, is either catch-n-shoot or pass to an open teammate (or an entry post pass). It's really one of the main things that has kept him a rotation player all these years.
True, but I think he's actually gotten better with his decision-making since joining the Miami Heat. A lot of us were frustrated with his play the last season he was a Rocket.
