I saw Jonsi and Grizzly Bear both, and both were amazing. I can only imagine how Sigur Ros is, since Jonsi was fantastic. I'll be seeing both at Coachella this year, can't wait.
bump? Here's my schedule 10/31- The So So Glos, Purple, Leopold and His Fiction (Beaumont, TX) 11/3- Streetlight Manifesto (Houston, TX) (Maybe) 11/8-10- Fun Fun Fun Fest (Austin, TX)- Cut Copy, Slayer, Washed Out, Tenacious D, FLAG, Television, Deltron 3030, bunches more 11/23- Chance The Rapper (Houston, TX) 12/7- Kanye West w/ Kendrick Lamar (Houston, TX) 1/29- Disclosure (Houston, TX) (maybe) 2/1- Darkside (Houston, TX) 2/19- Neutral Milk Hotel (Houston, TX) Super excited for Kanye, and I can't believe im actually seeing Neutral Milk Hotel. also if any of you are around Beaumont, that Halloween show is only 5 bucks and going to be incredibly awesome, The So So Glos are TONS of fun live, as is Purple. Just saw Titus Andronicus last week, great show as always but not as good as the last two times I saw them. I still think they are one of the best live bands around though. Also went to ACL, that was pretty fun. The Cure was straight up amazing. Queens of the Stone Age were also awesome.
i will be at watain tomorrow - red 7 in austin if any of my fellow clutchfans want to catch some good scandinavian black metal. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/cDWHvMO2AO0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It seems like all the shows I want to see are on a weekday and this old man can't take that any more. Unless I have the next day off. Which I was going to do for The Head and the Heart, but I'm choosing the Baylor game that night instead. My next show appears to be Ha Ha Tonka in Austin on 11/23.
If doors open at 8 at Fitzgerald's and there are 2 opening bands, what time will the headliner go on? 10:30? And also, how much will it cost me when they tow my car downtown and bend me over?
Usually doors at 8pm means first band at 9pm-9:45pm. Second band about 10p-10:45pm. Headline act around 11pm or after. I would think this would be the right right since they start a bit later on weekends. I would get there around 10:45pm or so if you don't want to wait around. There is street parking further down White Oak Lane if you are willing to walk a quarter mile or so.
Consider me jealous. They sounded pretty tight w Jackie when they played here in few months ago, limited setlist notwithstanding. Skipped built to spill at fitz and dead confederate at rudz last night... Just couldn't get motivated.
I thought he fit in very well baring one solo in either Non-fiction or High Head Blues, can't recall which song it was. Might be pulling the double tonite going to see ex-Crowes lead player Marc F'in Ford after the show!
I haven't been to a show in forever. Having a new baby will do that . I did just snag some great seats to the Arcade Fire show in the Woodlands, so there's something to be excited about .
Didn't make the post Crowes Marc Ford show, but we did get covers of Street Fighting Man, Hush, Wild Horses AND Dixie Chicken for the closer!
Nice! Ford is such a badass. So glad I caught several crowes first post-hiatus shows w marc and ed still in the band... They were so damn good. Believe it or not I actually think I prefer chris Robinson brotherhood to last two crowes incarnations which isn't to take away anything from either one. Just found CRB so damn badass... Super tight group and they played some amazing covers.
