T.jones aka j.smoove .5 is playing a similar style of basketball as the all star Smith . Smith is obviously better than Jones....Smith in a rocket uni might not be to bad.

Wrong . since Asik ask for trade, his value has been decide by Time. As time goes by, Rox's negotiating power will going down definitrly.
same case as Lin . Both Poison pill. So their value is not that high as you imagine.

Trade for thought: Asik for Fredette, Pick

Trade for thought: Asik for Fredette, Pick

I know the Rockets already have guards(Beverly, Lin, Harden), but they lack a consistent three point threat. There's nothing wrong with a little competition and Fredette needs a fresh start, as do Asik. Now whether he starts or not for the Kings is not our concern. The pick is would also be tantalizing. Yay or Nay. Thoughts

What is with these Aaron Afflalo and Courtney Lee and Iman Sumpert suggestions? Or any suggestion where we trade for a backup guard? The guard rotation is not the problem. Houston has a nice three guard rotation and my guess is that all of the minutes at guard for the next two years (barring injury, foul trouble, or blowout) will go to J. Harden, J. Lin, and P. Beverly.

Houston needs a "3s and D" player at the 3 spot, maybe also at the 4 spot. Houston could also use a legit backup C after trading O. Asik if they don't feel that their legit backup C is currently on the roster.

Don't assume that C. Parsons is still on this roster in 2014-15, or even this March. A stud defender at the 3 spot who can shoot the ball is a necessity and Parsons does not meet this description.

Houston can probably convert C. Parsons, O. Asik, and D. Motiejunas into the missing pieces to the puzzle but it may not happen overnight.

Martell Webster is an under-the-radar guy to keep an eye on. Asik + Motiejunas for Webster + M. Gortat is interesting, and allows Houston to offer a Parsons-T. Jones-draft picks package later on (on or shortly before draft day?) for a really good PF (or a fairly high lottery pick that can be used to draft this really good PF).

You guys don't seem to be considering that some of Houston's problems can be solved in next year's draft.

The idea I think about getting Shump,Lee, or Afflalo is to Move Parsons to the 4. We play our best ball when we go small. Afflalo would be the upgrade for the 3 spot he is strong enough to guard most 3's and would be our best perimeter defender he can cover the other teams best perimeter scoring option which would cover Hardens weakness of D. Parsons is big enough at the 4 and he can do everything well, he could play a Hedo kind of role for Houston only thing is he wont handle as much. Also When Smith is healthy he is a pretty good backup.

I wonder how Harden and Afflalo would co-exist on the floor. They are too similar players. I think the Rockets need to think very carefully who to bring into the team. There are already two very dominant players in H & H on the floor and one pretty dominant player in Lin.

Why did this situation emerge in the first place? Asik was too good to find space next to Dwight.

I dont think they are really similar in terms of playing style, here Afflalo could really focus on defense and he works better off the ball IMO he could get open looks from good passes from Harden or whoever the PG on the floor will be. I think he compliments the way we play of the game he can run, shoot, defend, and pass. Also he seems to be not alot of people are talking about. The reason they could do it is they actually would have a better Twin Tower esque team then us loool. Nikola actually has a back to basket game. So spacing for them wouldn't be that bad.

Also a Lin+ Asik trade for Jameer and Afflalo could work as well, but I dont know how Jameer feels about Howard.

I don't think offense is exactly the issue, defense late in the game.

The more I thought about it the more I think a deal of Asik and Dmo/Tjones for Josh Smith makes a lot of sense. Smith can hit the occasional 3 (although he seems to take to many of them), he can guard the 2-4 spots effectively, he is friends with Dwight, from what I understand he isn't working out in Detroit and we pursued him after we acquired Dwight.

Detroit would inherit our problem. Andre Drummond is entrenched at center and will get the max when the time comes. Greg Monroe is basically a Gasol-ish center playing at 4.

You'd have to get a third team involved.

Orlando already has a center who is better than Asik in my opinion. And Afflalo is looking like he's becoming a star caliber player _ I don't see Orlando moving him and if they do they may want more than that...

Lin, Harden and Filler for Paul George and George Hill

Paul is like lebron to fans in Indiana, they all love him. Would go crazy if he left. He was asked to do a interview with stephen A. and wouldnt go unless he could bring the other starting players. A true leader.

He will not do a interview by hisself like syaing he will not credit for something his TEAM is doing. Even tho he is the all star on the team. He shows leadership by playing hard on both sides of the ball

I agree. Paul George is a true leader of men. Indiana has great chemistry with George at the helm.

Paul George is probably the 2nd most untouchable player in the NBA. No way Indiana even considers trading Paul George.

Seriously I don't know why everybody thinks Durant is the 2nd best player in the NBA. IMO the 2nd best player is Paul George, he scores and plays DEFENSE.

Durant has become so overrated because of his scoring ability, we saw how he did when Westbrook went down.

    George>Durant

The IQ around these parts ate dangerously low.

First harden nor George are going to be traded from their team unless it nets Lebron. Second aflallo is very much tradable and likely will be. Thirdly, while i love George, favorite non rocket player, he is not better than Durant. Not even close. Durant is one of, if not the, purest sitters on the league. And he plays pretty decent defense himself.
