My mind works off of channel numbers. I know the channel number more than I know the channel names. My channel numbers are 1, 2, and 3 digits. To me, saying "Watch 231" is easier than saying "Watch The Food Network". It should be more flexible in this situation. Think about all the extra channel names for DirecTV users who have multiple HBO, etc. channel names because of all the channels. Damn if I know all their names. But, I could get there with the channel number easily. Sometimes, I may want to use the channel name when I don't know the channel number. But, not even close to always to eliminating the desire of changing by channel number. Hopefully, they fix this oversight on a future patch. Also, did you see how the guy in the video couldn't get to channels by channel name in some cases unless it was added to his favorites and given priority? That was way lame. Using channel number would eliminate that. If Kinect voice isn't good enough to understand someone saying a number (in this case, a channel number to execute a change channel command), then that sucks. Last, I'm not clear why the guy in the video had to repeat the change channel by name command and XBO got confused as to which channel he wanted. It made no sense. Clearly, voice technology is hit or miss on this console as far as understanding commands. It seems like it would be able to understand a number easier than a name?
Mine came from microsoft this afternoon and is sitting on my table with COD(since walmart didn't have anymore 2k14) but I havent opened it yet. Still not 100% sure I need it right now though. Are all these launch games available digitally on the system? at the same price?
Good luck getting one at cost. Unless Microsoft mass produces extras from here on out, you'll be SOL until Feb. is what I remember reading.
Where did you read that? I read that the chips they are making the consoles with are in ample supply and, therefore, will not be a bottleneck like it was before for the previous consoles launch. Therefore, what I read said they would be more readily available than the previous console launch over a similar period from launch. If you have info that dispels that, then I'm interested.
Most targets, best buys, etc. around my area still has some in stock. Better get them soon tho...they wont last long
Boss had his delivered today and fell victim to the "Green screen of death". Xbox logo pops up at startup and remains idle... Sat there for a good while and a glitchy pattern overtook the screen leaving it black. He's been powering it on and off and waiting, but the screen isn't advancing to setup.
I didn't read that, nor do I necessarily agree with it, but there was talk about some yield problems for the XBO. Specifically, I believe the ESRAM was causing some problems. Don't know if that is true, although semi-anecdotally, it sounded like stores were receiving less XBO systems than PS4 systems. Also, even if supply is much better than last time, both systems are also much more aggressive with their global launches. So while MS might be making 1M systems a month instead of say 300K, they might be splitting those 1M up into 10-15 countries instead of just 1. So that could cause some issues.
Sony and MS have the means to keep up with supply this time around. There is a lot less proprietary/uncommon components this time around. Sales are way up from last time and I doubt most places will be out of stock for long stretches of time. Plus there are less people willing to spend 1000 bucks on consoles alone at one time (PS4/One), than 1100 spread out over 12 months (PS3/360)
What area Best Buy? I went to my local one and he said they were out. I asked when the next batch might be in and he said "I don't know, some time before Christmas". Gee, thanks.
The Microsoft store online still is accepting orders. It won't be day one, but I doubt you'll find another day one without a premium.
To anyone who has gone through the update process, how long does it stay at just the getting ready to update part with no progress bars?
Looks like they sold over a million in less than 24 hours albeit it was in 13 different countries. http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/22/...llion-xbox-one-consoles-in-less-than-24-hours
