The Kinect voice commands using Xbox One Guide to watch TV does seem pretty lame as far as responsiveness and other things (can't say a channel number to switch channels? who is the idiot who left that out?). But, I think that...with the hardware upgraded...it's the software updates down the road that continue to make the experience better. You have to start somewhere. Remember the old UI for Xbox 360 in the beginning? It was lame compared to what they have now.

I would think the Kinect stuff will improve over time with more updates.

I'm thinking of doing the same for any future purchases. I've already bought Madden and 2K, but for any other titles going forward, I think it'll be much easier just digitally downloading them.

Yeah it seems like a lot of the Xbox One's current issues, especially involving Kinect, are a few software fixes away.

I too was quite impressed with the commands. Granted, I only played with the xbox one for a few hours last night, but accurately identified the few tests I said. For example, after I was ready to finally call it a night/morning, I said xbox off. I got a display pop up on the screen that said are you sure? I said yes, and poof, it was off. Completely unnecessary, but pretty damn awesome nonetheless. Can't wait to use xbox on today after work.

On another note, can anyone please direct me to that fitness game?

It is possible that some of these issues could be hardware related (certain limitations with Kinect perhaps), but yeah, I think it should get better over time. Even simple things like not forcing focus to change when changing channels during a game would go a long way I think. It is a uphill battle though. I think for many, if it isn't 99.9% accurate/responsive, they may never try using it.

FWIW, PlayStation's voice commands seemed to work well for me...until I tried to show it off to some people. Voice commands seem finicky at times it seems, especially if the environments change.

I'd also second digital content. I might go with disc games occasionally, especially since they might be cheaper at times, but I think I'll try to download most of my games. Switching between games is so much easier this way. I regret that I didn't download more of my launch games.

I guess if you buy a game through download...go to bed and come back in the morning...it should be done downloading. LOL

The store is less than 10 minutes away.

Can you store the entire game from the game disc onto the hard drive so you don't have to put the disc in every time? I thought that was one of the improvements.

You'd still need the disc because if you didn't anyone could just install a game and then return it or friends could just share games easily. Family game sharing was a feature originally included with the DRM policies, but that has since been changed when they re-did all of that.

Also, feel free to add me, GuerrillaStench. I'll be playing mostly CoD and Battlefield 4, at least until TitanFall comes out.

My Comcast connection is at least 60 Mbps, and Microsoft's servers are pretty fast, it won't take long at all.

I guess I'm going to download then. I don't like the idea of having to put the disc in every time I want to change games. At least with the downloads, it reads like you can download games and, if your drive is full, you can delete a game....download another game in its place...and play it. Then, if you get sick of another game, you can delete it and re-download a previously purchased game. That works for me. The only issue with downloads is the...downloading time. Have to wait...probably sleep on it...and then some.

At least with the standby modes on these consoles, you can download while you're away. I forget if either console supports this at launch, but you can imagine setting up a download from work (via a smartphone), and the game will have already downloaded (or partly downloaded) by the time you got home. Also, games are now being designed so that you can start playing them before they're finished downloading.

Some really nice improvements with the next-gen consoles IMO.

Yea...it will be interesting to see how it performs downloading over Wireless N....unlike the Wireless G bottleneck I have now with the Xbox 360. Hopefully, it will be quick. Wireless N is definitely something I'm looking forward to on this new one.

Why would you want to say the channel number as opposed to the name of the station? It's much easier to say ESPN...instead of saying 1602...or some other random numbers for channels.
