I didn't catch that at all. Just because the actor has played a gay character on television doesn't mean he's typecast across roles.
RG3 is a black republican, hasnt commited any crimes, well to do, clean cut, and gets called out for being fake, or having character issues by the media( which is run by caucasians)... I doesnt matter if blacks acted like RG3, or if they acted like Cheif Keef... they'll never be seen as equal in this country... NEVER, non-blacks claim they want blacks to be upstanding citizens, but deep down they dont want that because it allows them to get away with their racism... RG3 gets racial slurs thrown at him online( just for being with a white woman). People can say blacks play the race card and all that nonsense, but unless you are black and going through the struggle you really cant comment on their opinion
The only silver lining to the Maafa is our survival....most African never came to the U.S. and even so called "African-American" have ancestors who never saw these shores....so the "but black americans live better now therefore it wasn't all bad" is ****ing foolish. Who is to say that an even higher standard of living could have been achieved if Europe would have had the moral restraint not to try to destroy almost every people they encountered. Stop applying Pan-Africanism, a modern concept, to ancient people. European nations destroyed their own continent with 2 world wars....why couldn't they get along, they were all white after all? See how foolish that sounds.

Stop dancing and answer the question. How much time have you spent studying the history of African people from the 1600s?
What is "a fair amount".......a few weeks, days, hours, minutes, the occasional google search? Give me a rough estimate of how much time you have dedicated to the study of African people. As for myself......a tad over 5 years of serious studying with another 4 years of dabbling before that. That doesn't make me a scholar on the subject by any stretch, but I do have a basic understanding of alot of what has happened.....especially considering how broad a subject African history is.

Visiting a particular museum and or continent doesn't not count as "studying". I just need a somewhat honest answer so that I can know how to discuss the topic with you.

As much as I disagree with virtually everything bigtexxx says, traveling around in Africa is definitely an educational experience unless you just contract everything through safari companies and never interact with the people (which plenty of tourists do, unfortunately). I have been to Africa three different times, and I would call my trip to West Africa as almost a graduate level education. I felt like I learned a lot more in the 2.5 months I have spent in Africa (Mali, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt) than in all my time spent at Texas A&M University. Visiting continents and learning about different cultures is absolutely "studying."
If you go back and read Bigtexxx's post, you will not find this phrase in any of them. Interacting with different people is, obviously, a great way to learn. Simply visiting a particular continent and/or setting foot in a particular museum doesn't constitute "studying".......and that is my point. I see what your saying, but you failing to understand what Bigtexxx is suggesting and why I am questioning him.
