The coach can never do anything good in the eyes of the fans. We had these same threads with rudy, jvg and rick.

We always blame a coach when we lose and seldom praise him when we win. I'm not saying Mchale is a brilliant coach but these threads are annoying.

interesting to think that those 3 losses fall on the coaching staff so early in the season because didn't morey say that coaches account for only a +/- 4 games per year. if mchale already has 3 in the loss column, he's on track to go beyond what moray thinks is an appropriate loss total for a coach.

however, advanced stats say that there is so advantage either way in fouling vs not fouling at the end of the games when up by 3. so maybe morey won't count those two as losses from bad coaching but rather just getting the bad end of a coin flip.

the phily loss, i thought was lost when mchale chose to post up dwight for the last play. he's shooting some like 33% on post moves for the season (this was before last nights game), why was this the play mchale was going with to win the game?! 33% for a game winner? you go harden/dwight high PnR and there would be no overtime.

i'll say mchale was responsible for 2 losses, but his job security will be defined by playoff success rather than regular season wins and losses.

We had a foul to give. It's completely on McHale.

He put Beverly on Ellis in the second half which I thought was a good move, but unfortunately, it didn't slow him down.

I think there is enough blame to go around, plus I think the refs have been pretty brutal to us, however, the coach has to put the players in a position to win and I haven't seen to much of that... what really stands out is the lack of production after time-outs (I'm too lazy to get the stats to back that up, but I've watched every game so far and this is something that I've noticed). The plays that the Rox have run after a time out, especially at the end of the game) just leaves me scratching my head.

IDK, perhaps I'm not giving enough credit the defense, or perhaps the players are just ignoring McH and doing whatever they want, regardless, the plays that are being run after a TO have been utter fails.

I believe this is something that can be improved and there are still a lot of games left in the season, so no need to hit the panic button yet. I do wonder what Morey's thoughts about this are

But those plays we ran that caused us to go into double OT could be blamed on McHale, even though we won out at the end, the decisions were bad at the end of regulation and 1st OT.

Lakers and Mavs are so easily due to coaching, Philadelphia can definitely be considered that way too.

But Lakers and Mavs are 100% coaching problems. To some degree Clippers, the 2nd meeting.

Better question is how many situations has McHale gotten us to lose a game or potentially lose?

Even the original Dallas game, they came back. But yes, that Raptors game is another great example of a horrible in-game adjustments.

If he's still here for the playoffs, we'll be the most predictable team ever.

The question is who out there is worth a look? I can only say Stan & Lionel.

It's a lazy, simpleton approach to discussing NBA basketball.

This is what I have a problem with^

We have a young team who are still a little wet behind the ears and we need time to gel with our newest and biggest piece. It wouldn't have surprised me if we were below .500 at this point but we are in great position despite all that and we won 8 games thus far this year. The only game I was mad about the coaching was the Clippers game. Not because we lost, but because we looked completely out of sync and uninterested from beginning to end.
This isn't a perfect world where you just put one mega block on another set of mega blocks and everything is good to go, we need time and patience because you have to expect this to happen a little more until we get completely get that chemistry going and firing on all cylinders. This team has enough talent to do just that, all we need is time to get it there.

Someone has got to be the scapegoat and Mcfail fits the bill. Because let's face it. he is just not good.

Clips, Mavs, and Sixers. Lakers were destined to beat us, they just wanted it more. We had the clips on the outs, that game should have been ours.

We will not go deep in the playoff unless we change coach.

"The word "scapegoat" has come to mean a person, often innocent, who is blamed and punished for the sins, crimes, or sufferings of others, generally as a way of distracting attention from the real causes."

So by using the word 'scapegoat', you are admitting that blaming McHale for everything is ridiculous?
