'Melo is probably my 2nd least favorite player in the league (behind K.Perkins), but we would be scary with him at the 4. It would take 'Melo accepting a secondary/complementary role to Harden and I'm not sure he would do that. But man, our offense would be fun to watch.

This is exactly how I see it! IF he became available, and IF the Knicks would we willing to trade with us, YOU HAVE TO DO IT! This is a high reward low risk investment that doesn't come along very often! If we are able to keep Harden/Howard and add Melo to the mix the Rockets would have possibly 3 of the TOP 10 players in the NBA, and have a legitimate chance at becoming a Dynasty!

Worse case scenario, you have three superstars that every team in the league covets, and endless trade possibility's to re-route the direction of the Rockets!

(P.S) I didn't say one word about the cap or anything regarding finances! I'll leave that to the smart people, like Bima...;)

No, His chuckerism and low efficiency to go along with ball stoppage and no defense goes against everything we need on the team. Forget adding stars, should be the perfect complimentary role players at this point (Horford aside, as he would fit perfectly)

I think he would do that. We have to remember harden is 6 seasons away from being Melo's age. Think about that? I'm positive is melo is wanting out of NYC it because he's in win now mode. Well by coming down to H-TOWN he gets the perfect complimentary stars in harden and Howard. Howard and melo are at the point in their careers were they need to win now hardens not their yet. We seem to forget that he's only 24 and still 2 years away from his prime. I'm sure melo would still be the leading scorer as I really don't think harden would have a problem scoring say 20 ppg with 8-9 assist for a few seasons then taking over as the bonafide #1 in 3 seasons. With harden/melo/Howard that team is literally primed to take down every team for the next 3-5 years. Got to do it if available. Pray the Knicks do what they always do and crap the bed lol

for all the people who are saying they would not want melo on this team is fooling themselves. carmelo is a great player. yes he is a volume shooter and might be selfish but ask yourselves this question. Outside of Allen Iverson, what other great player has carmelo played with to take off some of the pressure. If he was to come here without giving up TJones because i fully believe he is the answer at Poward Foward if we acquire melo then this team can compete for a title for the next 3-4 years

Chauncy Billups? He had Billups, Nene, Kmart, JR Smith in the nuggets days and he didn't do anything.

Plus there's the fact that he makes 21M a year, something a lot fo the posters here forget. There's no point getting because he sucks per his salary.

He had all those players for only 2 years.

Nuggets were the second seed in the west and got to the WCF.

That deserves a lot more credit than "he didn't do anything."

This is starting to look like a real possibility. More and more rumors that Knicks are going to fire their head coach and/or trade Melo, because Melo is out after this disastrous year.

Lin + Asik + (Parsons or Jones) for Melo.

I would prefer Lin/Asik for Rondo, but this would be sweet too.

Not sure if Dolan would allow this, because he would look like an idiot for letting Lin walk in the first place.

No I do not. The Rockets can do better, maybe not this year, but in the next couple. And we'd have to gut our team for a guy who might not even stay.

Melo would address none of this team's weaknesses. If anything, he'd exacerbate them.

You don't acquire a star just for the sake of acquiring a star when you already have two.

    Knicks aren't trading him.

    And this.

The moral of this story, though, is that the Knicks have decided to think big leading up to the deadline. And no, for anyone wondering, those big ideas are not thought to include the idea of trading Anthony before the deadline rather than possibly losing him for nothing in the summer.

A final note here: Regarding the pressure that continues to build around Knicks coach Mike Woodson, it is undeniably real, but only owner James Dolan knows when and if he'll decide to make a change on that front.

if melo comes to houston, harden will have to be the point guard full time.

and houston rocket guts their entire team :)

Can Melo play off the ball? We would be a heck of team if he could. At the end of games where you need a couple baskets in ISO, there is no other player in the NBA that can get you two points.

That being said, I would be hard pressed to give up Jones or Parsons for him. I've fallen in love with our home grown guys.

I would take Melo as long as we didn't have to give up Harden/Howard. Anybody else is trade bait as far as I'm concerned.

good lord... you need a PG Harden and Howard respect....

    not another ball stopping foward

although from a LOF point of view a chance for Lin to go back to New York without ball stopper Melo there...
