Dwight is not a finished product. I saw improvement last night.

This team will figure it out by seasons end.

The Rockets have talent. I've never argued that. They're as talented as anyone in the league. But those were not ridiculous late game shots. They were tough, pressure baskets that teams take and make all the time. My complaint is that McFail could've prevented the Raptors and Sixers from ever getting off the shots in the first place had he fouled intentionally. He chose not to do that and it cost the team both times(and led to a loss against Philly). He also made numerous coaching mistakes against the Lakers which allowed them to close within 2 points which in turn set up the Blake 3. And last night, he made no defensive adjustments against Dallas in the 4th quarter. Yes, occasionally guys get hot and make crazy shots. But you are allowed to double and triple team the guy with the hot hand and force someone else to beat you. Did it never occur to McFail to make Dirk dish off to Marion or Carter(or yes even Ellis) and put the onus on them to make big shots?

Parsons hasn't been a very accurate three point shooter himself. And although he had a great 1st half _ with the fact he disappeared in the 2nd half _ he probably didn't want to take that shot himself...Lol... He was probably cold. If he was bombing away in the 2nd half like he was in the first half I would agree with you _ but since he wasn't _ I don't...

But in my opinion _ they should have never been in that position.

Dude the Heat had LeBron and Wade and a good group of veteran players. The Rockets have a bunch of wet behind the ears youngsters... We have to be patient.

Last time we played Mavericks (Nov. 1), Houston won (113 : 105)
Jose Calderon played 25:05, with 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover, 0 pts

This time, you know his name had a similar game to Jose's.

The difference between two head coaches is this: Jose is still starting, and the other guy is on bench.

Man this loss still hurts. Mavs, Lakers, and 76ers games will haunt this team come playoff time. Still cannot believe how laughably bad this team is in the 4th.

    Lol.

funny but it shows where these two franchises are.If the Rockets won this game it wouldn't have been a big deal, meanwhile in "Big D" they think they've advanced past the 2nd round.

If we had lost this game last year it wouldn't have been a big deal. We'd be ecstatic to be 8-5...but expectations change that. Winning games against teams like the Mavs are to be expected. When they do, you get a thread that may not reach 50 pages and everyone moving on to the next game.

As I posted before I have seen Dirk make those bounce shots so I don't chalk it up to sheer luck. But we are in total agreement on the absolutely PATHETIC defensive strategy from the so-called Rockets coaching staff. Apparently every other team in the league except for the Rockets knows that Dirk & Ellis are the primary scoring options for the Mavs so why not double them to force the ball out of their hands? In addition to the defensive points you raised how about their inability AGAIN to have an answer for the Dallas 2-3 zone? I mean, it's not like they haven't seen it before.

The Mavs were absolutely desperate last night but unlike the Rockets, they kept scratching and clawing their way back while the Rox were content to read their press clippings. Once the game tightened up, Carlisle was able to school McHale yet again. Unfortunately, this won't be the last time we see this happen. I dread seeing what Popovich will do to them.

That is right Count, agree with you. What they both have in common and what was inferred is that they both have to make some head coaching decisions soon. I am willing to give McHale more time, no problem. I just haven't seen out-coaching being performed by him yet.

What i am loving is Howard's improvement and effort, he is here to play.

The whole team looks pretty good. What is frustrating is to me it appears that we get out-coached at the end of games. Is the Harden iso McHale's call or Harden's bone-headedness? This inquiring mind wants to know. Why did we not call a play for Howard when it started getting close at the end as he was dominating the entire game?

Referring to ESPN's wired for sound pieces during the game where they played McHale's time-out talks: "Play more defense" & "Good, keep playing defense"... paraphrased.

Like I said before, do we want this team to be run by a real X's and O's coach, or a Sports Statistician ? Tonight we saw the difference, just like in the Clippers and Lakers games. Strategy vs. Stats.

ESPN makes a point to mention that they edit out all of the coaching strategy items from what they broadcast.

I remember seeing an ESPN broadcast with Mike D'Antoni wired, where he was basically just saying "Play harder! Let's Go!" sort of stuff. It came across a little silly on TV, so the announcers chuckled and said that they edit out all the actual coaching strategy and Xs and Os.

Mchale put Bev on Ellis to slow him down. The result? Calderon had a big night with Harden guarding him.
