He was bad, then you post about mchales treatment of him. Maybe you should look up mchales career before you post again.

Comparing Lin to Ginobili and Crawford is an insult to those players. Unlike Lin, those players have TENACITY and don't turn into mental midgets when their shots aren't falling. We need an irrational confidence guy as a 6th man and Lin isn't mentally at that level yet. He showed some positive signs in the past few weeks, but today he inexplicably reverted to passive Lin. The coaches need to tell him the way he played today was UNACCEPTABLE and he needs to get more involved.

Also...I didn't mean for this to be a negative thread. I'm simply asking for better treatment of the players by Mchale. See, people on this forum will talk crap about Dwights post game and FT shooting all the time but tonight he has a great game and suddenly no one remembers his bad games. At least I don't give our players **** for having a rough game. I'll be critical but still supportive of them even if they're playing bad, unlike you guys who praise Lin when hes having a good game but **** on him all night long for having a rough night.

Lin was having a bad game. Not so much the misses, but he just seems a step slower than usual. Maybe it's the back to back, even though nobody really played 35+mpg the night before in a blow out, but it still has an impact.

Moreover, the Rockets were having a hard time stopping Monta Ellis with any of their defenders. So, they left Lin out and put their best guard defender, Beverley, on Ellis to give themselves at least a chance of slowing him down. Didn't work out, but the decision makes sense.

They also did not run their often-used small-ball closing lineup today (with Beverley-Lin-Harden-Parsons-Howard) probably because 1) Dirk is hot and they want some size on him, 2) Jones was playing pretty well, and 3) Dalembert wasn't doing so great, so it may actually benefit the Mavs if you go small and they match small (by pulling Dalembert for Carter, for example).

It was an off night for him. It happens to the best of them.

The fact that some people are still blaming Lin for the loss, even though he only played 17 minutes, is just messed up. Many of you don't want to call Lin a star, but for some reason still expect him to play like one.

dallas had a plan against him.

they forced him to shoot via playing off of him & taking away his greatest threat - his first step.

i know lin worked very hard on his shot this offseason, but the fact remains that he is not a good jump shooter.

Count the second Clipper game, this is the second bad game (out of 12 games) he played this season. I feel it is OK.

That is the price you have to pay when you play off the bench. You have to be efficient to be able to stay on the court. The leash is short, especially his coach is McHale.

Plus Lin did play bad tonight. He looked lost. Hope he bounce back soon. It is a long season.

McHale was playing behind a Hall of Famer. Is Bev a hall of famer?

Pretty much this. Lin contributed nothing offensively tonight and looked uninterested.

I think this thread is an overreaction given that this is the one game Lin did not finish. :p It's just one of those games... the starters all played well, and the bench couldn't maintain the lead. Relax guys. Lin is just in a shooting slump. :)

Read again...when did I ever say Lin = Ginobli or Crawford? I used them as examples as players in the 6th man role who get better treatment than normal bench players. The purpose of that statement was to show Lin is viewed as a normal bench player by Mchale and not a 6th man as others have attested to.

So before u go around calling me an idiot, I'd like you to call you out on your reading comprehension.

Carlisle deserves some credit for his defense that really frustrated Lin and Harden tonight. They couldn't get anything going attacking the rim tonight, and that pretty much was all by design. That Dallas team will never be able to tank with him as their coach.

For better or worse, McHale is going to start and play Beverley much more over Lin this entire season. Everyone may as well get used to it. It doesn't matter how good or bad either of them actually play.

Let's just hope that Morey and Les fire McFail soon enough so this black hole of a coach is gone soon enough.

LOL. Good one. So I guess tonight you "normal" rockets fans would be doing the same thing as the guy in the gif except you'd be white?? Gimme a break and grow up.

Career and coaching is two different things.
According to your logic MJ's Bobkitties should be champions every year then.
