Yeah it's true it sets him apart but when his turnovers = assist numbers then it's null.

Sometimes the other teams gets unconscious and there's nothing you can do.. I can't remember a missed shot from the Mavs this quarter.

Yeah, a guy who has no idea how to close out and win games, continually makes bad decisions in the crucial moments.

Come on James, GROW UP !

Harden just sucks in pressure/clutch situations. He's blown close games wayyyy more than saved. I can only think of 5 games max year where was able to truly close out in the last minute.

People forget Harden is only 24 he's still developing, and it's only his 2nd year starting. He carried us last year. Unlike many of you I'm very thankful to have Harden. It's funny how Players, GMs. Analysts say Harden is a superstar but gets ridiculous amounts of hate from this site it's pretty sad.

The entire tram just sucks on D and I blame that on Mchales. His offense sucks too it's either Harden iso, post to Dwight or spot up 3. We won't win a championship with McHale.

Anyway the season just started it's one loss who cares. They will turn it around

I don't understand why the blame is going exclusively to Harden.

He hit a big 3, made a few great passes off the PnR, and got to the free throw line.

His biggest mistakes were missing a free throw and a 3 near the end of the game. Otherwise, it's not the offense that was the issue, it was the defense.

When the Mavs were scoring the way they were, trying to outscore them is impossible. It was the defense that was the issue, and they were making some pretty ridiculous shots.

Either way, this team still has a lot of work to do, but it was not the offense that cost us the game tonight.

Agreed, the starting unit actually looked amazing tonight. Refs helped out, Monta & Dirk were unconscious. A lot of bounces went their way too (two dirk baskets, 2 near and1's by dwight, chandler layup that went in & out).

I hate to say this because I like Harden, but at this point he is overrated a bit. I'm going to start being more and more critical of him at this point because he doesn't play like the "top shooting guard" in the league. He's a ball stopper, horrible on defense, and he's not hitting well from the perimeter this year. He is very talented but he's starting to frustrate me more and more. He's still young but I'm getting tired of the same old mistakes. Ellis lite him up tonight. Harden's man each game almost it appears seems to have an all world game. He should take more pride. I know he can do better.

The entire team needs to be blamed. Lin and the bench came in and missed a bunch of open looks. Lin 0/5 was not the problem. He just couldn't get the offense going. Mavs packed the lane and dared us to shoot 3s. Starters came back in with still 10 points lead. Harden's defense was no where to be found. Team defense rotation sucked. Ball movement that gave us the lead was gone. It was ISO, brick, turnover all the way to the end of 4th qtr.

He just stops the ball movement. It ist getting passed around cleanly then gets to him and stops moving for 8+ seconds. I'm just thinking "do something".

Lol, he is the biggest choker in the NBA. Has he ever made any of his final end of the quarter iso shots? Get Melo, please!!!

Harden is overrated on this board. He is one of the best scorers in the league. But that is it. He tends to iso in crucial.situations, does not work on defense, and does not make his teammates better.

I don't expect him to be Lebron - but as a max guy and the "man" who.so many on this board want to carry us (ie. primary ballhandler, only guy allowed to take mid range shots, etc) he is.overrated. He is also young and will hopefully learn to trust his teammates more. All the coaching staff needs to.do.is put his butt on the bench if he slacks.on defense. He will get the message

I agree. Harden needs to start getting benched more for his pathetic effort on D and ball stopping and TOs on the offensive end. He needs to be held accountable. Harden isn't playing like a winner at this point. I've been one of the ones on this board who have probably given him too much credit. I really don't like what I've seen from him overall so far this year with a better team around him.

the spoiled wannabe, and by the way he play all along this season, he is not gonna change, and he gonna be nobody in the end. he is overhyped, you like it this way, fine. he has never disappointed me when I say he gonna choke in clutch time, it make me look so good as a elite bball fan among my friends, so keep it this way, no problem for me.

He is a bad closer, the ball stops moving the team stops running, and if he does not hit his shots they lose.

Harden is not there yet as a clutch player, you have to trust the team and the pass early in the shot clock as well as late, he is still trying to do too much.

People seem to forget that he's 24 years old around here.

People seem to forget that this is still a very young team.

It's funny people begged for a star and now that we have this talented team all people can do is whine about what is wrong with our players.

Okay, Harden isn't Lebron. Oh well.

Also, There seems to be this misconception that 'clutch' players just always hit the game winning shot that is not true.

They hit the big shots, Harden HIT big shots last night...the Rockets have been in a close game every game excluding the Boston game...and in a lot of those games HArden hit big shots to give the team to win. Not the game winning shot, but big shots that led to a win.

Harden made BIG plays last night, he got the ball in the post hit Beverly for a 3...then came back down and drained a three himself...then got to the line and just missed the FT.

People are just going to have to realize that Dallas pretty much made every shot in the 4th qtr, lack of big shots, lack of offense, WAS NOT why they lost the game.

It is sad how many people hate on our superstar players. When we go back to having no superstar and argue about whether we should tank for one I'll remember to bring up the moment we do get one we will all instead whine about his flaws instead of celebrating his strengths.

People were like this with Tmac and Yao...but yall know you would rather have those two then the Brooks-Lowry era after that. I understand the expectations are higher for these guys but the hate here is just silly. You have people in game day thread calling him names, saying how bad of a player he is, how much they'd rather be Pacer fans...
