My friend lives in a house with a culdesac in front. When people go visit him (some weekends) they park on the side of the culdesac. Well one of the houses across the culdesac left a note on his car saying I don't park in front of your house don't park in front of mine park on your driveway. What to do in this situation? I personally would write a note saying you don't have the property rights to the street and thus can't stop someone from parking on the street (and it's across from his house not alongside) so F off.
It's true, the guy can't stop people from parking on the cul-de-sac sides if it is on the street, but at the same time, make sure the cars aren't blocking his driveway. In Katy I lived in a Cul-De-Sac also and I was on the side as you entered on the right. People on the opposite side ran out of space all the time (one of the reasons we left) because they had too many vehicles, so their visiting peeps always came to park on our sides, but never blocked our driveway. I knew my place. Also, they should have space for at least four cars. If they don't, there's something wrong with the spacing.
You don't own the street in front of your house, but at the same time, a good neighbor shouldn't be constantly parking in front of someone else's house. That is very annoying.
You should scold your friend for having a car and killing the environment. He should use public transportation.
Seconded, I live on a cul-de-sac and this occurs every couple of months or so. It's like an unwritten rule not to do it but as long as they don't block the driveway then meh.
This is the weirdest thread. I mean, other people exist, so yes, if you live within a tenth of a mile of the next house, they will use the same street you use, and yes, (gasp), sometimes a car that is not yours will park in front of your house. I would honestly talk to them, OP, nicely but firmly, saying: * thanks for your note, but I don't agree. * I won't block your driveway, ever. And I won't let my guests block your driveway. * I will try to avoid having anyone park near your home, since it bothers you. * But it is legal, and when it is necessary, it will happen. * Please come talk to me next time instead of leaving a little note. Or anyway, I will ignore the next note. But you're welcome to come talk to my face. Thank you.
