this man speaketh the truth...eth. don't think i ever had a fried pickle til i had pluckers in austin circa 2001. we used to order pluckers late night on the reg. fried pickles, chicken tenders and wafle fries. last time i ordered them a couple of years ago i remember being incredibly disappointed.
I get having "college" nostalgia or new college kids just getting to Austin thinking it's the cool thing to do to get drunk and go to Pluckers late night but saying it's good food is weird as hell. ....But then I like JCI and everyone gives me hell for that so to each his own.
if you are a fan on their Facebook page, they have been doing free lunches/dinners the past week for their staff trainning https://www.facebook.com/MotherPluckers
Don't hate it but definitely don't see the hype behind it at all. I'll take wingstop and bdubs over it.
bdubs is trash. i have never had pluckers'.....but if youre telling me that bdubs is as good or better, then you can keep it. it's awful. that place is a joke with TV's. and wingstop is dry and troy aikman endorses it. wingzone was great...all gone
I agree with you that bdubs is office and that wing zone was great but you gotta give Wingstop another chance.
I'm not a fan of Pluckers (other than the fried pickle spears). I agree that its following is nostalgia. If you polled customers at Pluckers, I think you'd find a lot of their business is visitors checking out the hype or UT grads who remember eating wings at 2 AM. Once the hype dies down, it's another wing place. Probably overpriced. Not terrible, but not great.
we're just talking wings and not some high end 5 star restaurant lol it's pretty much the same **** everywhere with wings
I will be trying them today for lunch since they are down the street from my office. Kind of excited.
Wingstop to hot wings is like Kroger to hot wings. I want my wings juicy/meaty and spicy to a point where I want Bill Worrell to come out and say, "Chandler Bangs!!"
