This was hilarious. I doubt they just threw Hatchetman on with Morey. I wouldn't be surprised if Daryl REQUESTED to have Hatchetman on with him. Classic
Did anyone just catch the Barry Warner interview with Parsons? He was really throwing him some tough questions. Asked him about Asik's injury (getting the splinters removed from his ass from sitting on the bench) asking him what he thinks Asik should do or what he thought of the situation. Parsons basically said right now Asik is a Rocket and he needs to be a professional about things and do his job. Barry also asked him about the n-word discussion that Barkley was talking about last night. Basically said he's used to it in the locker room and it's not a word he uses. Also asked about whether he thought Melo got preferential treatment from the 'zebras'.
"It's a sticky situation. I feel for him. He's frustrated but he needs to be a professional. He can still help us out. Continue to be a professional and do what the coaches ask him to do. Right now he's a Rocket and he needs to know that." For you Morey groupies an article with Morey fielding questions from NY media. Mostly about Lin but still a good read. Originally posted by Champ06 here: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8426603&postcount=1919
LOL at NY media. Really, Dallas and Portland are less worth beating than the Knicks? Their records say otherwise.
11-20 Interview with Morey- http://www.sports790.com/media/podc...views/rockets-gm-daryl-morey-on-pgs-23998042/ Decent interview today- Questions about- -responds to Hakeem interview about Needing to work with Dwight - Basically says he's looking forward to him coming back -Mentions the Zack Lowe article about the problems w the Rockets, says that it was slightly unfair because its still early... especially with Dwight. -responds to Harden's lack of defense- Says its something he aspires to improve at -Lots of talk about Terrence Jones. Morey says he can be an above average starter mainly because of the defensive end. Said that he was basically a guard early in his life growing up, but had a late growth spurt. -Had meetings with agents today.... hmmmm.... let your imaginations run wild -Said they really are going to see what this team is made of during the upcoming stretch against Dallas, Memphis, Minny
It seems MURRAY couldn't wait to talk about TJ... Murray also tweeted about TJ during a game last year. It seems he has a thing for TJ....
--We're finally coming together. Jones is doing what you're seeing there in practice/training camp. Nice to see him show it on the floor. --I don't know enough about the NFL. I would be pretty bad at that. (NFL/Texans GM) --I understand the Celtics aren't good but they have won 4 games and we did beat them up pretty good. We were in close games early against bad teams. You want to play up to expectations. We played above them, beating them by 24. Terrence can't play this well the whole season, he'd be an all-star, but 95% of this the rest of the way, it'd be huge to get deep into the playoffs and hopefully championship game. --We had basically our first practice day since the season started. We hadn't had a day off. We were able to do that. A lot of that was working on getting back to basic principles (where we slipped) - ball movement, playing in transition, defensive intensity, you don't want to take too much from one win but we like what we've seen the last few games. --Doesn't make sense to go for Howard and then immediately say you don't want him.(Cuban's comments). If we're gonna be where we want to be, tonight's a game we should win. --I expect Omer to get back into the rotation and give us solid minutes. We're through the period we went through there. I think the rough patch is over. --You need a guy who can defend the rim and rebound at the five or your dead. We'll get Omer back and he'll be huge for us. --I do think at times we'll might use it against big lineups but I think to start the game, that starting lineup is working so we usually stick with what's working. --(Zach Lowe article) I was able to read it. Pretty critical. Zach does a nice job but drew a lot of conclusions from very early in the season which I think was unfair. I thought it was too early to draw some of the conclusions there. --(Hakeem's comments on Dwight--reverting to old habits) Obviously he worked with him all summer. He has a lot of commitments overseas as well. As soon as Hakeem can get back, that'll be a good thing. --(Jones as a defender) That's why I think he can be an above average starter. We think he can be a 2 way player. We're pretty high on Terrence. Right now, what's gonna happen, he's gonna be in the scouting report and that's gonna be the next step in his progression - how does he handle it as teams focus on him? --(Grizzlies start) Pretty much same personnel. I think they'll be fine overtime. Adjusting to slightly different sets and a tougher schedule to start the season. I think they'll be and battling with us for playoff seeding. --We have some tough games coming up. I think we'll have a better sense of where we're at. --(Harden's defense) He's capable and has had some defensive moments. Some of it is his foot. His foot is bothering him. He's had good defensive moments, late in the game with steals and run outs. --(Beverley and Lin) We're excited with how they're playing. Both of them have done all we've hoped. So far so good. --Here in Houston. Had a couple meetings with some agents. Lucky me.
Probably just routine check-ins from player agents. This is something that is probably standard. If it was a high profile meeting about a trade or something I doubt he'd even hint at it.
He did come on today instead of Thursday due to "meetings." Perhaps something complicated and important being worked out.
i disagree. morey is clearly a thrillseeker who lives on the edge. could easily see him putting that out there at the end just for the rush of getting to tease us all
lol. Maybe your right. buzz from the trade Bill Simmons-like crazed superfans keep interest high so you can't rule that out. Still you'd have to think that during the year they probably have some sort of report card meetings with Agents about their clients. You'd have to think those meetings are less thrilling since your having to sit and listen to Robert Covington's agent tell you to start him cause he's the next greatest star(no disrespect to Cov of course... just making a point). I'm sure agents like that trying to sell you on giving their guy at the end of the bench the keys to the front office are less than exciting. Perhaps. If it was that important though, you'd have to think that both sides would just drop everything and get on the phone ASAP though. Might be like a lockout situation though where they are far apart, but wanted to step away for a few days and come back to the drawing table over lunch. who knows.
