To provide the whole truth, a jury was disappointed that the laws were written in a way that prevented them from finding him guilty.
Why should he stay in hiding? Because he was the focus of one of the most controversial trials in years. Every slip up will be all over the news. He can't stay out of trouble it seems he would be much better served staying close to family and out of the spot light to protect himself from himself. Also, why did his wife divorce him after he was found innocent? Wouldn't the woman who is supposed to be your biggest supporter feel for you as the victim of media as the silly people here like to say? After more than a year of what has to be the most stressful, painful, point of your life, capped off by a split from your wife, you decided its a great time to enter a new relationship? It is all so weird.
This wasn't very controversial. It was whipped up media frenzy. You can call the Casey trial controversial, but not this one.
Do you even know the definition of controversial? Is 500+ pages of people arguing either side not enough? We are still talking about it nearly 6 months later?
Sadly, even if the media has undue influence (and I would agree with that aspect in this case), "controversial" is decided ultimately by the public, not some pristine benchmarking process that a few smart people get to decide. Sorry. "of, producing, or marked by controversy." This passes that basic definition, and how. -2 points for calling anyone who disagrees with your take "ignorant".
Yes they are... Ask people's opinion about the case (see past 500 pgs) and you will find out right away it is not one sided, there are hundreds of differing opinions, which is basically the definition on controversial. If being ignorant is believing GZ is a bad guy, then so be it. For me it follows logically that a guy who is repeatedly in trouble with the law or at least having run ins, Is more likely a bad guy than good. The supporters logic is that he is not a bad guy bc the media skews opinions. That has no logic.
There was very little evidence. There were no reliable witnesses. This should have never been in the national spotlight. This "controversy" was whipped up by a media frenzy and ignorant speculation. This has nothing to do with race. Or skittles. Or Tea. Or Lean. Or any other unbased speculation that had nothing to do with the trial. The real controversy is why race had to be such a big deal. If it was white on white or black on black, nobody would have cared.
That's where the race hustlers come into the picture. Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, Ben Crump -- they all made a ton of money off this tragedy. Obama even got his benefits from stoking the racial flames (needed those blacks in Florida to vote for him!). It was one of the more disgusting displays of using race to their advantage that I've ever seen. These men also have blood on their hands, due to all the black-on-white violence in the name of Trayvon that resulted from their pimping of this story. It highlights just how low some will go for personal benefit.
