no offense but this does not sound like a quote hakeem would make. I have followed him his entire career, he doesn't say stuff like this. He could be thinking it, but he wont say it like that. If you have video proof ill buy it.
I'm sure McHale reminds him, he was one of the greatest post up men ever. Dreams right Howard needs to learn to react quicker. He allows double teams and gets shots blocked frequently or settles for an off balance layup instead of an easy dunk. But in no way am I dissapointed in Howard at all. His defense and rebounding have been spectacular, he's been putting in the work on the FT line and it's starting to show.
ya you really can't trust such an obscure blog like that... i mean, nba.com? what the hell is that????
I think what Dream allegedly said is correct. Anytime you try something different, if it doesn't come to you right away, you have a tendency to revert to what you were doing before. That's human nature. So yes it would be good to have the reminder sitting on the bench with Dwight.
"He takes his time to decide what move to make." That's something that bothers me every time I watch him play. He gets the ball and sits there for a few seconds. It gives the defense time to set up their double teams, and it gives his defender time to get set.
I'm pretty sure Gortat's "dreamshake" is worse... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-b...uggle-marcin-gortat-dream-225136022--nba.html Good to watch if you're having a bad day and need a pick-me-up, though. LOL.
Hakeem doesn't necessarily speak in the clearest of English dialects. However the guys that do the hangtime blog are pretty legitimate. I dont really have any problem with what he is saying, and being the trusted tutor of Dwight, I think he's the one guy who is allowed to criticize his technique since they have worked with each other for so long. I see along of the same things that Hakeem is pointing out here. Him waiting for the defense to bring over another help defender helps him pass out for 3's, but he needs to be a little more decisive when they get the ball into him. However one thing Hakeem is failing to mention here is that the post entry passes have been pretty bad so far this season. I'm not too worried about Dwight though. He's been incredible defensively this year already for this team, and the improvement offensively from Asik to Dwight opens up so much more for this team on the other end. And then if Jones can continue to play the way he's playing now that will make life even easier for Dwight to get easy buckets one on one. Any improvement they get from Dwight offensively as the season goes on will be icing on the cake.
I believe that he said it, I don't like that he said it. I don't like that I think Dwight's too sensitive for criticism like that and shouldn't have to deal with that distraction. most, I don't like the ammo it gives Rockets "fans" who think that Dwight is not right for this team.
Honestly it's the only encouraging thing about his game. Because that can be fixed. The loss of quickness/athleticism - not so much.
