basically a howard clone with 3 point range and better free throw and post move.

Perhaps he should be working with T. Jones and Dmo instead of Dream lol.

Luckily, they have looked good playing together and have looked like they complement each other well. Which is much more important than comparing who is the lesser of who

    True, and Truer.

Having those two guy there to protect the paint and block shots has the potential that we were all hoping for when it was rumored that the Rockets could get both Howard and Josh Smith... only it looks like Jones might be a little more rational on the offensive end.

Jones could have a backwards slump here in the next few games, but I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe its a fluke. Everything he does looks like he's only going to get better at.

He's not a lesser Batman in the paint, but he might be a very good Robin in the paint... which is what we needed all along after we signed Batman.

Last night was a good scoring night for him, but i don't expect that type of scoring from him on a regular. I see him becoming a 12-14pt a night guy this season.

Yup. I recall Dwight being super high on him from the time of training camp.

hes going to at very minimum:

play good man, team D, and contest every shot brought inside. he's gonna avg 2 blocks a game because his timing is impeccable. hes gonna rebound

and clean up putbacks, catch wide open passes for dunks

the 3s are a bonus and keeps the D honest, but he doesnt have to focus on that. focus first on being a do-it-all inside man then when the 3s open go ahead

do we even need a new PF anymore?

I've been saying T. Jones should have been the starter from the first game. Hell, I wanted him to get playing time last year instead of having Delfino play the 4 spot.

We don't need to trade for a PF. We got him. Paul Milsap can't shoot 3's, he's not as athletic, he cant block shots. Terrance Jones, has it all...

Yeah the offense really isn't a big concern to me. He just needs to fit in, and complement. Score within the offense, and score opportunistically. Jones is really doing that well so far. If he starts to play offensively outside of himself, that's when he's going to get himself into trouble.

On defense if he can continue to be Howard's "Robin" with what he is doing from a help defense perspective, and what he's doing to cover even more area with his shot blocking, its going to be a lethal combination for this team on the defensive end, and its going to be very hard for teams to score against this team... (unless the perimeter is allowing blow-bys of course).

Good question. If he continues for another ten games or so then the question is: what type of player do we want to trade A sick for?

I wish we could get someone like Iggy for him.

I wouldn't say this in mixed company, but getting Iggy instead of Dwight was probably the best thing that could have happened to GSW.

This is big thing that concerns me. Can he rotate well? Can he help out where he is suppose to help and stay home when he is suppose to stay home? Offensive awareness also concerns me a little.

I think he is the PF for the Rockets.

imagine this line up with $11mill a year left to spend on fillers. We would be a top defensive team, and not take a hit on scoring.

    asik
    jones
    iggy/parsons
    harden/lin
    bev/lin

These were the two things that concerned me most. But I've seen encouraging signs on both. He doesn't seem as lost out there. On offense, being able to hit threes, whether he takes many of them or not, is definitely helpful. I expect that he will develop chemistry with Lin and Harden on PNRs. He'll end up being excellent in the fast break.

dominant big man > every other option.

getting iggy for the warriors was great.

getting howard for the rockets? better.
