That's fine/better. I'm sure there will be updates along the way, so now we have a thread for that. Thanks.
Ummm...how? I'm so damn stupid, why don't you explain the difference 15 miles vs. 40 miles makes as far as ticket sales go. And why did those idiot Skeeters go the 15 mile variety when they wouldn't be able to sell any tickets?
Who wants to go see a major league team when they have a minor league team nearby? Still think I'd rather be in Austin (well RR), SA, or NO.
I get that...that doesn't answer the questions of: why would a measly 25 miles change that, and, more importantly, why did the Skeeters put a stadium there?
I was intending sarcasm. The vast majority of fans are not substituting major league baseball with minor league baseball. There is a reason why minor league stadiums usually hold around 5-6K people and college baseball isn't more popular. I think the whole take away tickets thing is way overstated, though being as bad as we have been, while having future stars in AAA could make that matter. I guess 25 miles = 50 round trip miles, which would matter some, but like I said, I don't really see it as a big deal either way.
Oh, I know...but assumed you were making the point that who wants to see a minor league team when a major league team is nearby.

Is Crane actually serious about signing somebody, or is his plan simply to finish 2nd or 3rd a lot so the fans think he's serious about spending money? Hopefully the former.
If you were a free agent, and the money were the same here vs. San Diego (or really anywhere)...would you come here? Not that the Padres are great, but a guy with his stuff could put up great numbers in that park if he's healthy. I just hope we get a chance at some of the bidding processes...where we end up with a pure money guy like Tanaka could be a more interesting litmus test.
I'm pretty sure bigtexxx would stay in Texas over California. Those taxes are rough. That is a good point though. If I was a pitcher, I'd probably look at Seattle & San Diego as the 2 places for me to have a rebound season.
