The Bulls want Asik back because they know exactly what they're getting. Asik may not necessarily want to play backup there either.
Chicago might be trading Noah for a star guard. That's the only reason I see Chicago wanting Asik back. They know how difficult it is to deal with him when he's not getting enough minutes. That's why they chose Taj Gibson over him.
Bottomline is Omer wants to be a starter. Doubt he's going to the Bulls unless they promise him starter minutes.
Deng makes great sense for our needs, proven scorer, defensive stud, plus he's on a expiring contract. There was talk in the offseason that the Bulls may trade him because they were afraid to lose him for nothing. Asik/Dmo/Parsons for Deng and Mirotic. Bulls get a young cheap replacement for Deng we get our backup center. Makes some sense though Boozer could be a target as well.
Deng expires this year and Boozer expires next year. Either way they help us for a short time and we cash in on the expiring contract
2014 — Owed first-rounder (top-10 protected in 2014, top-8 protected in 2015, unprotected in 2016) from Charlotte Bobcats (Tyrus Thomas). AKA, horrendous trade
Luol Deng would be so perfect on this team. Put Parsons on the bench in a Lin-esque role (playing mostly the 3 and backup 4) and let Deng improve our defense.
