    Looking for some help.

What service are you guys using to buy and sell. My bank has a function online where I can buy, but do you guys use a separate service?

I have about 10-15k I could realistically part with to invest, but would rather keep it lower..

My "portfolio" is 2 separate savings accounts, checking, 401k, IRA, stocks handed down to me from family (which I don't really have access to) and company shares.

And still with huge potential and more generic drugs coming to market. Looks nice

im telling you if you want a long term investment, tell me one stock which has more upside in the next 12 months than HIMX

    1.Google Glass
    2.Oculus Rift

both are coming out next year and google glass will be the biggest talk of 2014 product wise and wearable tech is really taking off. Samsung just said it sold 800,000 of its galaxy gear watch in 2 months since release.

Oculus Rift is slated for 2014 release and read critics tests, most have oculus beating xbox one and ps4 handily.

HIMX is $9.36 right now and could easily be $30,40,50 next year.

Even at say $30 its market cap would go from $1.6B to $4.8B.....still a small company, its not massively overvalued by any stretch of the imagination.

I am holding HIMX till at least $30

Part of the disputed safety claims by Tesla is something about the battery. They were saying the battery size and weight gave them some kind of advantage

Add EVOK to your watchlist. Its a new biotech and today was the 1st day of real volume. Aegis initiated a 60 price target today.

At this point, wearable tech hasn't gone anywhere. The Samsung number is garbage - that's a sell-through number to retailers. The real question is how many people are actually buying those things off retailers' shelves. Does anyone here know anyone with a Samsung watch?

As for Google Glass, it has potential, but it's still completely uncertain too. There is a huge supply constraint with the explorer edition, and you can still get them near face value on EBay - invites to buy at face value are selling for about $100-$200. Many unopened new editions of Glass are listed on eBay for $2000 and are not selling. The reviews have been middling at best, with people generally saying "its cool, but I wouldn't use it".

As of now, wearable tech is a big unknown. It could take off or it could be an absolute flop. I suspect, at least as far as a watch and eyeglasses go, both are more likely to end up as niche markets than any kind of revolutionary everyday consumer product.

I think the stake that GOOG took in HIMX is intriguing. I mean they are freaking throwing $4 billion at snap chat, so they might keep putting money into HIMX. That's part of the reason why I bought into it. Overall, it's a small percentage of my outside investment account.

honestly major you're always a negative guy in general but WTF are you talking about??? The google glass explorer editions are $2000-4000 on ebay and were $1500 originally, the retail edition of google glass will be in the $300-500 range, remember google's MO isn't high dollar retail, look at their phones.

Google Glass will change the world:

1.Medicine - change how surgeries are done, change how classes are taught with how glass can be used in surgery to teach a more real life, real time surgical lesson

2.handicap people - the ones who could never use their hands to surf the internet, take pictures, communicate with the world get a new way to do it all

3.service people - mechanics, plumbers, anyone who has to follow step by step guides to do a job now can have all that information right infront of them, no more having to follow guides and running back and forth to a computer.

4.The app possiblities are endless did you see the 5 released today? The language one allow you to take pictures and translate into a multitude of languages. Have you ever been to a foreign country and had no idea what a sign said? I know I have

The other apps were cool such as recipes without having to use a book or a phone.

Other cool things that could be done would be for say cyclists who can utilize glass for all kinds of things they couldn't use their phones for.

To say glass will be a smash hit is an understatement, look how big the smartphone market is between all the different brands, google glass is a one of a kind product sure other companies will make similar versions but they are pretty garbage from what i've seen thus far.

Google glass would be an epic flop at $1500 if that was the true retail version but its not and to say google won't sell out of these is crazy to assume bc they invested in HIMX to ramp up lcos production to 2M units per month.

When you factor in the impact of 24M new units to the $737M HIMX did last year some analysts have said HIMX could earn $1.18 when its fully ramped up which would make it a $30-40 stock

Then they have oculus rift coming.......that is an even bigger game changer than anything out there today in the video game industry......sony sold 1M playstations the night of its release, wait till you see oculus rift and how people will want that more than any gaming system ever released.

HIMX is beyond undervalued at these levels today, I've followed this company since $5.70 a share and its long term potential is unreal considering its not a risky biotech that could go bankrupt with a sneeze. HIMX has a solid core business that is very profitable without google glass or oculus rift.....adding those 2 will be MAJOR......pun intended

Just look at the EBay Completed Auctions. Some sell, but plenty don't. And that's with hugely restricted supply.

This is the definition of "niche markets". I agree that these things will have value - it's simply not an everyday mass-consumer product like a phone. You act as though this will be the next smartphone or tablet type product - it has the same price point but won't remotely have the same volume.

I have no opinion either way on HIMX because I haven't studied the company or it's current valuation. I'm just talking about the market itself.

"niche markets"...... I don't know about you but 835K doctors in the US + god knows how many paralyzed people who can't use their hands + all the geeks who want a new cool product + all the regular people who want one + all the kids who want one and I see no reason google can't sell the 2M per month that they want HIMX to ramp production up to.

There are 7B people on this planet to think HIMX can't sell 20M of this hot new never seen product is silly when consider the number of smart phones sold was over 250M last quarter or the number of playstation 3's sold was 80M.

Google Glass will be a hot seller, yes people won't wear it everywhere but they will have it as a conversation piece/toy.

The applications in medicine, education, parapelegia, and uses for normal people are still going to surprise you and the developer kit was released today so lets see what cool new apps are coming out for it.

If nothing else, doctors and handicap people alone combined with all the rich people + their kids will get this thing to 10M units sold in the US alone
