Teams regularly dramatically improve with changes to coaching. I'm pretty sure if you looked at KC last year or SF three years ago, you saw a lot of holes too. Players look very different in the NFL when you put them in different roles or under different schemes.

Lance Zierlein said that Dre took it into the locker room. It didn't just end on the side lines and it wasn't just Schaub but also the coaching.

its shocking they put schaub in the game. it really is. he can never be the starter again.

and what is their upside. we have seen his limitations.

i mean it really is crazy

people need to chill out.....kansas city had the #1 pick this year and they started 9-0, we aren't that far from being a contender. We just need a QB that the team can believe in and a Head Coach to boost morale right now we're loaded with talent but our guys have quit.

Teddy Bridgewater,Brett Hundley,Marcus Mariota,Johnny Manziel,Tajh Boyd,Zach Mettenberger, and Derek Carr are all legit QB's. If we can't get bridgewater I'd like to see us trade back deeper in the 1st round and get one of these guys + picks.

On the other hand Keenum + jadeveon Clowney is a scary thought bc Clowney + Watt would be insantity

what's your point? the seahwaks, colts, 49ers and redskins all had rookie qb's last year.

all these antiquated notions like "you can't win with a rookie qb" or "it takes a couple of years to rebuild".... how do they still persist??? it's almost as if some people don't watch football at all.

Kaepernick may have been getting his first starts, but he wasn't a rookie.

The comparison was made to a team that was unbeaten halfway into the season. Don't read more into it than that.

I wonder what else was said

Also . . .in the back of my mind
A Part of me wonders if this also related to how 'his boy' Ed was treated

"Dre . . . the way **** is around here. . .this team will never win nothing." - Ed Reed

The hardest thing for any coach to maintain is buy-in. At some point, every HC - even a successful one - is going to lose his team - the players have done it all before, heard it all before... They talk a lot about the culture in NE; note that they also turn over players repeatedly. Nothing in that environment gets stale, beyond the QB. It's a secret component of their continued success, IMO.

I think fresh blood alone will do wonders here. Just look at how vital it was in 2011. If the new coach is smart and progressive and the team wins... then that initial buy-in will solidify longer term. But I think a still-solid nucelus here can rebound quickly with just a new voice and direction.

As for who... I dislike every single one of the retreads that keep getting kicked around, save for Dungy, who I think would command respect in that locker room. My dream choice is Bill O'Brien - smart and he's very obviously fearless.

So you think going into 2013 that Quarterbacks aside, the chiefs had a better team than us?

Would you rather Arian Foster and Ben Tate or Jamal Charles and Knile Davis?

Would you rather Andre Johnson,Deandre Hopkins or Dwayne Bowe and Donnie avery

Would you rather Owen Daniels or Scott Mcgrath

Would you rather rather left tackle duane brown or left tackle #1 overall pick eric fisher

We have a very good defense too, but we've just quit on our head coach flat out.

If we add a top QB, a new coach guys can believe in, we will be contenders easily next year. Bob McNair has to wake up go out get a bill cowher and a new franchise QB. I would honestly be ecstatic with Keenum staying and we add say Mike Evans or Maqruise Lee early and then Imagine adding a coach like say sumlin to a QB he knows like Case and now you have a spread offense with

    Andre Johnson
    DeAndre Hopkins
    Mike Evans
    Garrett Graham
    Owen Daniels
    Devier Posey
    Keshawn Martin

now you have an offense that our defense can get excited about!

eddiewinslow's right. This team is stockpiled with talent and is much better on paper than most other teams in the league. The coach and quarterback, however, have failed the team and were the catalysts for this pathetic collapse.

A good draft and coaching hire could be all this team needs to turn it around next season.

That's just our offense though. Our secondary needs work. I'm all for drafting a franchise-type of QB, but don't think that's all we need to contend. That, with a new coach, will be enough to win again, but even going back to last year i thought this team was still missing something. I've enjoyed the success and was hoping for a title, but i never felt they could just go through anyone to get it. They would have needed the right match ups. Maybe it's the coaching philosophy, but a change in that doesn't automatically mean an improvement.

LZ just reported Andre's rant carried into the locker room. Where he berated Schaub and coaches for a significant amount of time.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/MghtyPtrck">@MghtyPtrck</a> Yes. Dre kept blasting when he got in there and it was towards schaub and coaches before he finally chilled out.</p>&mdash; Lance Zierlein (@LanceZierlein) <a href="https://twitter.com/LanceZierlein/statuses/402808943119839232">November 19, 2013</a></blockquote>

I just have to say...this was years of frustration that finally verbalized it self for Andre...the usually calm giant, finally snapped...in desperate hopes to get his team to rally together and play harder...

The anger wasnt directed at Schaub, but his anger was real... and he finally said something.

If McNair is listening, he better go all out this offseason shaping up this team to be competitive next year, or look to see our greatest Texan football player just leave for pennies on the dollar...

I actualy was kind of shocked when I heard Lance saying this on the morning show. I honestly never thought Dre would take it that far in the locker room. That is one pissed off dude. If anybody's earned the right to go off, though, he's the one ... I ain't mad.
