So, the opposing PG goes off and you blame our PG's. The opposing SG's go off and you blame our PG's. Doesn't that seem a little unfair? Shouldn't over all team defense take *some* responsibility? How about the people guarding the SG's? And shouldn't we give the chemistry thing time to work itself out in terms of lobs and turnovers? You don't just walk onto a team and Know where everyone wants the ball. Just something to think about...
Rockets don't need a 3rd "superstar" but they could use a Tony Allen type player to help on defense at the 1/2/3. I think that would make a much more productive impact than you think. There are only so many shots you can take but defense can always improve. Plenty of offense on this team. Ouch! My knee hurts.
agreed i'm not sure if Brewer can still guard PG/SG effectively we definitely need one more perimeter defense we allow way too many 3pts shots
I agree with the OP. Sell high on Parsons. He's a great player, but he's not a superstar. And just to be clear, there are 2 superstars on the Rockets, and neither of them are from Palo Alto.
Fans here just have no loyalty to their players. How the heck are you suppose to expect loyalty players as you b**** and moan about Asik wanting to leave?
Lin/Asik/Parsons for Durant.. Can't think of fairer value.. maybe Lebron. Haha, on a serious note, we really cannot get fair value for Asik or Lin. The publicizing of Asik's trade request has meant we've lost al leverage with other teams. And Lin is just perennially underrated. Even though he's going off right now, he is still getting his critics and haters. Parsons on the other hand has great trade value. People love his contract, and intangibles. I just couldn't swallow trading away the player who worked the hardest to get Dwight here.
Right, but nobody offers a max contract to a 6th man. Harden wanted to get paid. You stated that many players have regretted leaving a contender for more money, well Harden left a perennial contender because of money. Yeah, he was happy being 6th man...
I don't think any star PFs are available at this point. With Millsap having elbow tendinitis (!!!???) I would no longer touch him. It's too bad, because Terrance Jones' trade value could sky-rocket
If only you followed what happened, there was only a discrepancy of 2-3 mill on the contract offered vs what harden wants... harden was only given 1 hour to decide then boom he traded... it was not much about the money for harden it was the disrespect in giving him 1 hour to decide... big difference...
To be honest, if Parson's gets traded it will be a lose/lose situation for both parties since Parson's is one of the main glue of this team. He has really blossomed in the rockets system, and his effectiveness has a lot to do with how well he is suited to the role he has with rockets and (such as having freedom to playmake and handle the ball, long leash in being able to get over his struggles while on court etc..). I think you will find Parson's won't immediataly be as effective in other teams and will need time to develop more of his certain strengths (his a bit of a jack of all trades at the moment) to fit certain systems.
