Just that there might be an announcement of Mack retiring before the Tech game. That way everyone is nice etc... Would be his last game in DKR.

I'll always love Mack as a person and a father figure to these kids, but it's just time. The place is out of control from everything I've read. Just time for some new blood and a new regime. I will wish him all of the best in life going forward though. He's as sincere as they come.

The sooner Mack makes the announcement, the more the games become "about the kids" instead of himself. The continuing swirl of speculation puts the bullseye on Mack, which allegedly bothers him so much.

 

If Mack is back I will buy all you UT fans a beer somewhere. I want to indulge myself in your pain. Tickles me just thinking about it. I don't even hate UT, I just want to laugh at something funny.

 

A&M has afforded me this opportunity many times over the years, so I'm glad we can re-pay the favor every once in a while.

I don't have any mixed feelings about Mack's departure since it's time for some new blood, but I will be a little sad to see the guy go on this note. His last home game will probably be the quietest home crowd in over 20 years at DKR. His last conference game will be a walloping at the hands of Baylor for God's sake. His last bowl game will either be some no-name bowl or a beatdown at the hands of a SEC team in the Cotton Bowl. If he is retiring, it's probably just time to make the announcement. Maybe the fans and team would rally and somehow end the season on a somewhat positive note.
