Looks good. A bit of Robocop, Total Recall and Blade Runner. Hopefully FOX doesn't end up killing it like they mostly do. <iframe width="853" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ykwxg534yAw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
This started last night. Some of it was a bit formulaic, with a little bit of that Blade Runner-esque future dystopia feel. That said, I was pretty much hooked from the opening scene and it turned into at the minimum a highly enjoyable, decent enough sci-fi series. Will definitely keep watching.
I really enjoyed it! We need some good sci-fi. I agree that the plot was formulaic and it looks like, for now, it will be a case of the week type of show, but FRINGE started off that way too. I want to mention how amazing the show looks! I Dont know how long they can keep that type of look; it looks really expensive Fox is better now at letting the creators/writers go in the direction they want their show to go. More so than the big 3 CBS/ABC/NBC. They let FRINGE switch to a more serial plot and gave it an extra 2 seasons to finish the story when they probably should have been canceled after season 3. I actually trust FOX now not to just cancel under performing shows that show promise. It seems they have learned their lessons or are trying to make a amends for Firefly. I hope Almost Human strays away from the episodic type of show, but a case-of-the-week wont be that bad in this Blade Runner type of world.
Firefly part deux amirite? Show also seems pretty expensive, from the cast to the effects. Hopefully they can keep it going. And lol at John & Dorian
Gave it a shot tonight and it came across as a run-of-the-mill mill detective show, just set in the future. Needs to do better than that.
It is a bit run of the mill... But that's ok. I like every character. Karl Urban is a solid lead. It'd be nice if there was a little more sci fi then sex bots and the like.... But there's time for that.
They're remaking bad 90s tv shows now? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/eKdKo5SFmvc?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
To be fair, what did you expect when NBC steals Wheels and the Legman from American Dad! and turns it into a tv show? I recorded the pilot for AH, but I haven't watched it yet. I hope its good, until Continuum comes back I need some new Sci-fi.
You do realize that Ironside was originally an NBC show that ran for 8 seasons in the 70s and 80s, don't you?
It was alright, but I thought the robot character is done wrong (acting and script). Sonny from I, Robot made a better robot with human traits.
I saw the pilot, started out incredibly strong but towards the end the wheels came off quick and turned into just an average sci fi show that I'll probably forget by tomorrow.. Will give this show a full season before making my mind on continuing because Karl Urban is pretty cool reprising his role as Judge Dredd, lol.
I like Karl urban, minka Kelly, and Michael ealy a lot. But I stopped watching. I'm just not interested in a procedural crime dramas. Maybe they will start creating an overall story at some point like Fringe. But I'll wait to tune back in until then
