I respectfully disagree. Parsons defense is terrible. And parsons benefits greatly from playng in our system. What grit and toughness from parsons are you referring to? Boys got his moments, but so did chase. Again not that hard to replace a non defensive, 33% 3pt sf.

A yellow squash and a banana are both:
    Yellow
    in the produce dept

That doesn't it an apt comparison if you are trying to cook something that requires one of those ingredients.

Correction- this board ******** sucks when it comes to evaluating Parsons. Dude's averaging ******** 18 points per game, and it's not just within the system.

Lol which team would offer more for parsons than they would for howard, harden, asik and maybe lin? Part of his value is that hes incredibly cheap. That doesnt mean hes he second best player on the team

I didn't say Parson's wasn't had to replace. I simply said comparing him to Budinger is a poor comparison.

Parson's worst defensive day is better than Bud's best day.
Parson's worst dribble penetration day is better than Bud's best.

I'm not calling Parson's an all-star. I'm saying Bud is a spot roll player.

Being the 2nd best player on last year's team doesn't mean sheet when he was ranked around 20th at his position. And playing in a fast pace free flowing system his numbers should have been better with his usage rate which shows how good he's actually not... And since he's been concentrating on his scoring his defense has been terrible... When McHale has to go with a young guy like TJ to guard guys like Rudy Gay and Melo during crucial moments instead of Parsons, is something to be looked at.

I like Parsons, but not enough to think he can walk on water... They can replace Parsons with Gerald Green and get the same production _ probably better. Parsons is an excellent value for his contract but I honestly don't feel he's worth paying big bucks to...

This. At the end of the day, he is a system product. The way I know this is that he can't create his own offense. There are a lot of small forwards in this league who are able to knock down an open three. A lot of them will have an advantage over Parsons in that they can rebound well and can also defend well. With Parsons I just don't see it.

I don't mean to discredit Parsons as a player. He is a very good role player. I just don't see any situation where we end up keeping him for a long term. If we get a good power forward then Parsons' scoring becomes immediately expendable and defense will be a much bigger priority. He will not even be offered 6/6/6 in that situation.

NBA.com stats listed him as having played 11 games this season shooting 40% FG and 9PPG. I'm not aware of his injury but those stats seem about right. I wouldn't expect much more from Bud than that.

Thank you. I had never thought of a squash/banana substition in cooking, but some squashes are quite starchy, so it could work. That might make for some interesting flavor substitutions. Not so much on the players, though.

I watched many Wolves games and Bud was never in the lineup. Obviously you hadn't watched Bud this season and neither had I.

You must've made a mistake looking at the stats. It would help if you can provide a link.

Parsons played well this past game. Supposedly his back was feeling better.

If parsons can play consistently like he played against Denver, you keep him. If he can't, then he's just another ok player.

Sounds like you just don't like the guy. Parsons has a lower usage rate than Harden, Howard, and Lin. So his usage rate is right where it should be.

I would like Parsons to be Rocket in the future. He should be our 3rd option on offense (instead of Dwight...). But he should also come at affordable price. I do not think he's worth more than $5-6 M. If he's asking for more than that, I think he's replaceable.

He'll get $8-$10 million per year easily....

A team is going to pay him 12M/year I think. I don't think morey matches in that case.

Parsons based on his quotes fancies himself as a creator/playmaker now. I cringe when he starts dribbling and tries to play point guard. It's not his forte and should leave the playmaking to the your 3 point guards.

Parsons will stay if he's priced right. All depends on the market. If somebody like iggy could be had at the same price as an example, parsons will be overpriced. So depends on what market gives us.

LMaO @ Rockets fans trying to de-value Parsons on here. He will command at least 10 million per on the market. Stop being cheap. Pay Chandler (and pay the luxury tax)

His post said Parsons runs the floor, not the offense. And for what it is worth his ball screen action has been outstanding when he gets good movement from the screener. He is terrible in isos, though. No mid range jumper or post moves.

Nothing wrong with his fg%. But we really need the 3 ball to go in. No 3 ball, no spacing.

Don't know about usage rate, but Parsons has about 425 minutes so far this season, more than any other Rocket, including Harden.

What I wonder about Parsons is how his contract situation will effect his play (positively or negatively) this year.
