Just watched the late night with chester pitts, they showed a video of Andre speaking to the reporter, He said and I quote "I always wanted to be here, am under contract"
Reporter:"players under contract can ask for a trade"
Dre:"did you hear me saying I want to be traded"

The guy wants to be here.

Andre: "I always said this is where I wanted to be. So, other than that, I don't know. I don't really have anything to say about it. I still have an ongoing contract, so . . ."

Reporter: "Guys under a contract can ask for a trade."

Andre: "Yeah, they can. I don't know. I never asked for a trade, did you hear anything about that?"

    Reporter: "No."

    Andre: "OK. Well . . . "

    Much ado about nothing.

That was probably back when he was extended and we had a significantly brighter future. Since then he's probably realized that this system/coach has peaked. And that kubiak is putting his job first over the team's future.

Or he does want to leave and is just being professional about it. It would be bad for him to go venting his mind in the press saying he doesn't like it here and will leave first chance he gets.

It's unthinkable, but given the fact that we are not close to winning a Super Bowl anytime soon, that we need to begin the rebuilding process, and that Dre's window is closing, we really ought to shop him for a 2nd rounder. His legacy as a Texan is secure; nothing's gonna change that. Both parties win in this scenario.

    This.

Andre has given all he could to the Texans and has made plenty of money in the process. That being said, it's time for a MASSIVE house cleaning and Johnson should be traded to the highest bidder to help the new regime get off to a fast start in rebuilding.

eff you guys talking about blowing things up. This ain't the NBA! NFL franchises can slip from contender to pretender status on a yearly basis.

I'm not saying changes aren't needed. I just think we need to get rid of Kubiak-Schaub stank that is bringing us down.

Exactly. We need to cut the dead weight..on the roster, coaching staff and perhaps FO too.

says who? i mean, don't get me wrong... this team definitely needs some help, but this is the NFL man. bring in a competent coaching staff and have a good draft and we can compete for a super bowl next year. there's still a decent amount of talent on this team but the combination of injuries, a flat out inept coaching staff and the eventual complacency of the players due to said inept coaches makes this team look 1000 x's worse than we actually are.

history has proven time and time again that you do NOT need to have some sort of multi-year rebuilding phase to be competitive in this league. McNair needs to be sitting down with every one of our franchise players and explain this directly to them.

Ridiculous that our back up QB had the nerve to talk sh** to our superstar receiver after he threw it into triple coverage and expected him to go after the ball.

Schaub is an idiot and obviously Kubiak is ride or die with his quarterback.

Good riddance to both after this season.

Trading Johnson or letting him go to another team is ludicrous. This is like saying: "We know we have problems, but you're not it, so we want to brush those problems under the rug without you."

FIX THE TEAM. Then trade only the scrubs that you see have no potential.

Houston is looking at Andre Johnson as the only potential Hall of Famer in the TEXANS history ever. Why trade that?

WIN HIM a Super Bowl here.

    Me, too.

Andre's endured so much throughout the years, up or down, yet never complained. I wouldn't blame him even if he went to the COLTS. Dude's the consummate professional, he deserves the team of his choice.

Andre is going to die a Texan alright and Schaub/Kubiak will have killed his career.
