Future hall of famer for a 5th? I think that's too low. AJ can still ball even at 32.

These last few games really demonstrated how unfortunate it is that AJ has been saddled with such a limited QB for so many years. I wouldn't blame him for wanting out if it were to come to that.

I feel sorry for Johnson he should be on a contender making big plays for a team getting a shot to get a ring

FTFY. As much as I love Andre, you just can't trade a player because he "deserves" it. Screw that, haven't you guys learned anything from Morey.

Yeah, and why not trade Watt and/or let him walk in FA while we're at it?

Do any these 2014 qb's in the draft wear a #8 because if they do. Stay the hell away! I do not want to see another #8 on a Texans quarterback for the next half century.

    No. For a few reasons.

    1) AJ's Contract. Trading him would create a ton of dead money on the cap.

    2) Value. You don't get good value for players in their 30s no matter how good they still are. Would you dump Andre for a 4th round pick?

    3) The next QB: The next QB that leads this team will benefit greatly from having an outstanding veteran option for his development. Think Andrew Luck and Reggie Wayne. Young QBs need guys like that they can count on.

Barring injury, Watt has his whole career in front of him. This is only his 3rd season. Andre has gritted it out with this team through thick and thin and never complained to the media. His career is almost over. He deserves better.

Dre served his time. By the time they rebuild, his career will be over most likely. I'm glad the Portland Trailblazers of old were classy enough to know that needed to do right by some guy named Clyde Drexler. I'm pretty sure they didn't think Otis Thorpe was a building block for the future or a better player.

They would never trade Andre. With the current state of his contact would be a huge hit on the cap.

Ringing endorsement of playing in Houston by AJ...

Johnson, a first-round pick in 2003, was asked if he was happy playing for the Texans moving forward.

"I'm under contract, so, I have to play my contract out," Johnson said. "I can't do anything about that."

Johnson also was asked if he would be willing to go through lean years again.

"I've always said this this is where I wanted to be, so I don't really have anything to say about that," he said. "I still have an ongoing contract."

So you can only leave if you're a 10+ year vet (and have "suffered" "ups and downs")?

J.J. has given us a great 3 years (and what, 4 or 5 by the time his contract is up?).

If I'm Watt, why would I stay here? God forbid I'm another Andre Johnson.

J.J. deserves better. Head elsewhere young man! Couldn't blame ya!

As a Carolina Panther fan I would trade for him in a heartbeat.

He is not the longterm answer for us but he would help us compete for a superbowl for the next 2 years.

The most I could see us offering is a 2nd rd pick.

Would you guys be down for a 2nd rd pick for AJ?

Colts are not a contender trade him to a real contender like Carolina.

All we need is a legit WR to put next to Smitty and we might be the best team in the NFL. We already have the best defense.:)
