Forgetting for a moment that that guy should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Doc Rocket, Young is someone I personally thought about, but kind of rejected.

It's not so much that he's not good. He is quite good and would provide an upgrade. But rather, he's not worth as much as Asik in an open market. If anything, he's one of those players many pegged the Sixers trade away as part of their tanking plan.

Therefore, the Sixers would have to include a pick in this deal. Young+pick for Asik. But why would the Sixers want to give up a pick given their tanking movement? It would have to be a 3-team deal here if Young's the central piece.

Id rather have a 4 with better range. I'm not seeing Young as a huge upgrade over Jones or Motiejunas. $9M / year to boot.
