This kid is really getting his head in the game, maybe the rehabbing worked. I wonder if he's really off the weed now or is it just temporary? He's coming up strong from the bench for the heat scoring an efficient number in limited minutes. Even though the sample size is small he seems like a different guy compared to how he played for the Suns. Tbh, Heat really got themselves a bargain. Hopefully Oden will be good too. Man do they have a solid bench.. Ray All3n, Birdman, Haslem, Beasley, James Jone and a sometimes boneheaded but can make clutch shots Norris Cole. Any thoughts?
I doubt the guy has quit smoking reefer. He's probably just a bit more committed to a winning team than he was a losing team in Phoenix. Having the best player in the NBA making sure that you aren't acting like a moron probably helps, too.
LeBron won't be able to save Beasley from himself any more than Wade or Riles could when he started his NBA career in Miami. It's a long grind until mid-April and I'll be surprised if Beasley doesn't fall off the wagon before then. But if Beasley ends up being a solid contributor during the Heat's playoff run, good for him. Sometimes guys beat the odds.
Yup, pretty much. LeBron has made it known multiple times that he has taken Beasley under his wing. As dumb as he is, I think Beasley at least has enough brain cells to realize this is most likely his last chance. Still wouldn't shock me if he got in trouble again though.
From what I understand Beasley only has a 1 year contract, amazing how athletes who won't have guaranteed money next year suddenly shape up and play well Then again everyone deserves a 2nd chance and I hope he does well, there's no doubt he has enough talent to be a star in the NBA. Maybe he can become LBJ's new sidekick and keep LBJ happy in Miami.
Much like Deng in chicago...this is a contract year for him...not surprised to see him producing...he will return to form if and when he gets another contract....but its great to to see him doing well for how ever long it lasts...bad news for pacers and bulls..
Beasley was crap in Minnesota, worse than crap in Phoenix, now he's putting up above average numbers in Miami? He didn't put in the effort for the previous 2 teams because they weren't playoff contenders. Now that he's in a situation to his liking he gives 100%
Or he knows that if he doesn't play well this year he may be out of this league for good.. No contract = no weed. D:
On top of that, Deng is about as far as you can get from Beasley character-wise. Totally different players/people to make the comparison.
Umm Deng has been productive for a long time now. As for Beasley this isn't his first "contract year" so that has nothing to do with it and he won't even get a big contract from this. Hopefully he keep his head on straight because he is very talented.
