Anderson would look really good on this team. He's somewhat underrated too, defensively. He's a solid average defender, better than DMo and possibly better than Jones.

We don't need anderson at all.

he can shoot 3's. so can casspi, parsons, tj, and dmo. he can't really rebound or defend. tj can. he can't post up, dmo can. he can't take guys off the dribble, but parsons and casspi can.

we have 4 options that can play the 4 next to dwight better than anderson or illyasova. if we need a backup defensive center for 12 minutes a night as DD said, then we have smith. we don't need an upgrade at the wing or at the point either.

so unless we get an all-star at the 4 or 1, we are better off moving asik for the best draft pick we can get. illyasova and anderson are a waste of money and will only stunt the growth of tj and dmo. even millsap is almost not worth it with how well tj is playing. he's ahead of where millsap was in his second year and is already a better rebounder, shot blocker, and shooter (but sap is a better scorer right now).

I might take caron butler's ending contract and an unprotected first round pick, or like what morey did with the lowry trade, that it could only be given to us if it was a lotto pick. i don't think any other lotto team would go for that trade except for maybe the cavs or knicks (who might be worth the bet that they miss the playoffs next year when they have a first round pick and are even older).

trading asik for picks rather than players helps us more in the idea of "stockpiling assets" for a third all star... as for the whole "win now" thing, no player we can get for him (unless morey shocks us by landing an all star PF or PG) will help us win now. better to stockpile assets.

Why do we need him when we have a stretch 4 in Casspi?

No, we definitely need a defensive back-up center. A serviceable one at least.

If Dwight ever goes down with an injury, its going to be painful having Greg Smith and D-Mo as the team's centers. Its going to be a layup fest for teams with very good penetrating perimeter players.

Any trade for Asik MUST definitely return a backup center (or a PF capable of playing that position if needed).

Do you even realize he hit 6 for 10 threes in his first game back. His shots were wet!

Only one rockets has hit 6 three pointers or more on one occassion this year and it was Jeremy Lin with 9 against the Sixers. This man equals the Rockets total for the entire season in his first game back coming off an injury and his girlfriend committed suicide in the summer.

Don't insult Anderson and put Cassipi in the same breath. We have no one on our team currently that can play the stretch 4 better than Anderson.

this, expiring + pick(s) making more and more sense

although Jones still looks utterly lost on defensive rotations, despite filling up the stat sheet nicely

    Seriously ????

can't compare casspi to Anderson. Anderson demands respect down low in th paint. You guys think Anderson can just shoot 3s. He can rebound, play decent D, and get in the post if he wants to. He seems like a good guy that would do whatever Mchale needs him to that will help this team.

you can still start jones and bev. and have Lin & Anderson come off bench and finish games in 4th both getting over 30+ mins... Anderson loves setting screens and can with his big body, he can also shoot anywhere when given the ball off one. if we can have Lin & Anderson coming off bench finishing games together with parsons Howard harden... We will go far trust me on this one !

TJ and D-Mo combined for 26 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assist, 2 steals, and 4 blocks.... And both of them can knock down the 3. I bet Morey is not even thinking about Anderson. I also believe New Orleans priority is to move Gordon...

Sounds good... Anderson off the bench... Hmmmmm... But I'd rather have a guy like Jimmy Butler, Shumpert, somebody to help on the perimeter defensively. Scoring points isn't the Rockets issue. Parsons, Garcia, Brewer _ that's not a championship wing crew...

    Easy, Homer.

Saying any of our guys can shoot 3s the same as Anderson is ludacrious.

We have a defender in brewer & Garcia shows flashes, but reality is parsons, Lin, harden just need to work on their defense because those are the guys that will get the most mins & finish games.

Shumpret would be great because he has more O than brewer so he isn't a liability on the floor. But back to reality, Lin ,parsons, harden will be finishing games. I don't see Mchale taking out harden for Shumpret at the end of any close game.

Anderson & Howard are already playoffs proven that they can go far as a front court. Add parsons Lin harden to that and it sounds like a win win situation to me

Anderson is no where near a better defender than TJ... TJ can guard three positions on the court and he's a shot blocking machine. TJ is a much better rebounder and that counts too. D-Mo _ maybe...

Right... I like jones and think he will be a great player for this team just needs to keep playing and get the experience he is still young.

Now anyone can say what they want about Anderson D, but no one can argue that Anderson+Howard weren't a PROVEN front court that went to the finals. so his D can't be that bad including his offensive production. Howard was in his prime when he played with Anderson, so it's a definitely worth a shot if morey can get him to Houston, they already know how to play together just like parsons/harden/Lin do.

Holy crap, Anderson looked good last night. I don't know if the Pelicans are going to trade him any time soon.

Didn't the team that went to the finals play small ball with Hedo and Rashard? I think Ryan Anderson was traded with Vince Carter for Courtney Lee after the finals run.

I don't consider Parsons as important as Harden and even Lin. Those boys could get Jimmy and Shumpert 10-15 ppg. And Parsons has been getting blown by just as much as Harden and Lin. Heck, TJ has been getting the crucial defensive assignments as of late... Harden would probably be better served guarding small forwards instead of quicker guards anyway.

And what have Anderson and Howard proved in the playoffs... That they can catch a beat down...??? Lol.. Anderson's 3 point percentage suxks in the playoffs. He's a regular season shooter I guess... I believe you're thinking about Lewis....

    And what have

And who have you seen Anderson guard...??? He only started for one season in the Leastern division... And look at his rebounding and shot blocking #'s.. I seen TJ have around 11 blocks over a stretch of two games last year... This is nothing new... You must have missed it.
