Since he going to be traded anyway, I would rather see them go with DMo and Jones so they can develop, unless we really need him.
Schaub would have looked the same way if not worse had Peyton Manning been signed by the Texans like he should have been. Peyton had Houston at number 1 on his list and we let him slip through our fingers.
Please don't pollute this forum with Texans/NFL garbage. This is the Rockets forum - we talk about winners here. There is another forum for losers/texans/football/trash
I'm Houston native for 34 years. I lived in the Woodlands when there were only 10,000 people living there. I have a right to say what I want. Texans are garbage, but minus Hakeem the Rockets have been utter garbage for the last 20 years as well.
coz he wants more money. next year is the last year of his contract. So if he doesn't show skills he will get the same money. which i don't think he will. He wont get more than 15 million. Maybe im wrong tho coz there is a lot of players that get over paid. I say just sit him till we find something good we have until feb 15. If he is sitting that long with no practice and no playing time he will surely be so rusty and out of shape. He wont be able to help whichever team gets him this year.
You don't think losing your starting job to an undrafted 3rd string QB hurts? Thats worst than losing it to a hall of famer. My point was, at least Schuab has been professional about it. He's not quitting on the team or being detrimental, and is actually still trying to fight for his job back (good luck with that). Hell, take the rockets own JLin for example. He didnt lose his start to a franchise point guard, he lost it to the guy behind him with even less experience, Pat Bev. I'm sure he didn't like it, but you know what, he played his ass off and forced the coach to give him more minutes. Yes, Asik has every right to request a trade. Even though the season barely started and he never gave this a chance. We'll let that slide. But he's doesn't have to quit on the team. He can still be a part of the team, while the Rockets find the right suitor. Hosently, it probably doesn't hurt to be out on the floor to prove to other teams you can be helpful to them. It's very disappointing to hear all this about Asik.
Those of us who actually remember the team from that long ago, are well aware Maxwell faked the injury, he's even admitted to it in recent years. I actually have Maxwell at the top of my list, ahead of Pippen for team's biggest ass because Pippen at least didn't sell the team out on the court. I think we have our new winner, and unfortunately i can't help but let it taint me that the poor turkish work ethic extends to the nba after the crap Tukogluser pulled as well.
Interesting conundrum if one or more bigs joined Smith on the sidelines. And what if TJo and/or DMo seize their opportunity sufficiently?
#bewell Selfish bum.. who does he think he is.... Good riddance get that lockerroom cancer out of here. Some ppl want to win.
Funny how ironic your post is. Your actually the one who's clueless for not detecting the sarcasm, not Kevin McHale.
How credible is Stein? The dude is making some pretty serious claims about Omer Asik and how he's reacted to the Howard trade, losing his starting gig at his obvious position, and then losing his starting spot next to Howard after being our starting 5 last season on a team that played far better than we had any right to expect, with Omer being a huge part of that success. I don't know how much of this to believe. Asik must have found the media frenzy about Howard bizarre, and might honestly believe that he's a more intelligent player, and a center who's actually better than Dwight in many aspects of their respective games. This "moping" we've heard about could also be largely driven by his agent. Who really knows? People here are always eager to toss a player under the bus at the slightest excuse, facts be damned. Personally, I want to know more about what's really happening before condemning the man. Omer busted his arse for us last season. I think he's earned a little respect for that, and a little leeway before we assume the worst.
Honestly, I never expected Asik to act this way. I simply don't understand his behavior. He seemed like a hard-working, no-nonsense guy to me, and now all of a sudden he is acting like a pouting little baby. It doesn't make any sense to me at all. I'm sure that when he was signed he was promised the starting job, he got it, did a great job and all, but when the team has an opportunity to sign someone who is arguably even better, then they have to jump on it. Simple as that. I really thought that if someone talked to him about how great it would be to have both and that this gives him an awesome chance to win a championship (isn't this what every player should want?), they would find a way to make it work. I think there are plenty of minutes to go around and he could have done it like Lin and could have had a fantastic year, with no drop in minutes at all. Instead, he is acting like an idiotic baby. I don't get it. He didn't seem to be that type.
