I don't understand why Asik is being such a primadonna. He would still get plenty of playing time with the 2nd unit, and with LIN too, who will actually get him open looks via penetration/lobs.

It is because Asik is top 5 defensive center. So you asking one of the top 5 defensive center that could be better than Howard in a few years to play backup?

He is alienating himself from the team. How awkward.

 

Wish Yao can magically make Asik play again.

 

The dude is self destructing. It's pretty bizarre behavior from a guy with no history of meltdowns.

Seriously. What the hell is going on. I don't think anyone would've picked this.

 

Asik knows his value so this doesn't hurt him in the long run. He's talented so none of this is going to matter to another team. He'll just spin it that Houston reneged on their promise.

 

I'm not sure which would be worse, if this is really Asik or it's his Agent and friends getting into his head.

Either way I feel bad for the guy. He's making his own life harder than it needs to be.

Either way, Morey can't tolerate this kind of stuff. If the team can't get Asik to get his head in the right place, Morey needs to hit him over the head with the CBA and get his butt back in uniform.

He's unhappy, he feels he's not being utilized... all understandable. You still suit up and go to work. If you don't want to go balls to the wall I understand, but you still gotta show up to work. Heck, we've all mailed it in at work once in a while, but we still go.
