With the exception of long range shooting, I think Ilyasova is better in every aspect of the game, especially defense. This is a no-brainer, IMO. Moreover, I wonder about Anderson's focus and mental strength after that awful suicide by his girlfiend. I hope he'll be okay, he seems like a nice guy. People keep mentioning Millsap. I have always viewed him as a mediocre defender, who looked better than he actually was. Can some of the advance stats guys give some more insight here? I'd be grateful.
Who have you seen him guard consistently good...? He's a career 20 plus minutes a game player for Milwaukee in the East. This is the west... Dirk, LMA, Love, Z-Bo, Duncan, Gasol, Griffin, Davis, Ibaka/Durant, David Lee _ who's Anderson and Ersan gonna guard...? Those two guys are weak defensively compared to TJ... and they both have career 3pt shooting percentages of under 40%. Those aren't as good of moves as people seem to think.. But just my opinion.
The fan base will be bummed either way. Most of the people here seem to be expecting Love, Aldridge, Horford, high lottery pick or at least a youngster with all star potential.
Sorry, working so can't pull up the info right now related to the bolded, but I recall seeing some good statistical backup on why Millsap is actually an underrated defender. His steals and general defensive prowess is pretty good. Not much help on the perimeter though, which is where the Rockets are really shaky. That being said, I'd be very happy w/ Millsap or Ersan...mildly happy w/ Anderson.
Between all the money in the world & MIAMI/LA ~ Lifestyle etc What makes you think Lebron would go anywhere else than to 2 places where he would be untouchable.
Gimme Irsan all day. I'd trade him for Asik in a heart beat. The guy has a pure jumpshot... really similar in the form like Dirk's.... and Irsan can do it all. And he's only 26. GET IT DONE MOREY! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/S_uncwlqdCg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Ersan would stretch the floor like crazy for us.... if only D-Mo's shot was consistent.... and his D was consistent.... we wouldn't need to find our 4....
Who you think is the better passer? Very important and not commented. I know both are platers with good IQ and good positionating. Better passer?
In case this hasnt been considered...Anderson's mental state has to be put to the test. He hasn't played yet, so i can imagine the rockets would be hesitant to pull the trigger on a trade for him, until he actually proves he can continue to be the same kind of player.
Ilyasova is 3 years older than listed, but he is no doubt much better player. I don't see why Bucks would do this, they have Sanders and Pachulia, maybe 3-team trade.
I have never been a fan of pick-and-pop basketball, simply because most of the time the pick-and-pop is run at the top of the key or just inside the 3-point line and results in a long-2 by the big. However I have been thinking about our team with Harden/Howard and I am starting to salivate over the idea of running the pick-and-pop with Ilyasova at the 3-point line with Ilyasova spotting up above the arc. When you look at his percentages out there...it's crazy. And when you think about the space it creates for Harden with Howard playing weak side...it gets even crazier. Howard wants more post-ups. What about him flashing into the post when the ball swings high to Ilyasova? And yes, the pick-and-roll would still be there as well. Ilyasova.....I've been touting him for a while now. He's the perfect fit at the 4.
If we are not able to get Aldridge then it should be Ersan. I think he would be the perfect fit next to Dwight.
