Don't think Parsons should be speaking out like that. I'd def like to see how he would respond if an elite SF took all his minutes

I've been defending Asik and TT all along the way, but I don't like this trade request. You signed a contract: do your damn job. That's how contracts work in the real world.

This is where Asik needs to be hazed... Jonathan Martin style. Tired of hearing his BS.

Parsons wouldn't like it but I bet he would play hard for the 15 minutes he was on the floor. That's all he's asking of Omer play hard, earn his money and not hurt the team on the floor or in the locker room.

He will get paid, question is if he'll be worth it. He and his agent spent all offseason trying to get his name out there.

All Asik had to do was keep his mouth shut for a couple of months. Would that have been to much to ask of a guy earning 8 million dollars a year? Instead he openly pouts and severely damages Morey's negotiating power. What a jerk. Or maybe it's his agent? Don't know, don't care. Either way, he's toxic, and I'll be glad when he's shipped out.

I have the exact same reaction. Although maybe a little less poignantly.

    Harden/Asik - - Durant/Perkins

I love Harden, but Durantula? Ain't no way, alas.

    This.

Doesn't matter whether he's right or not, it's NOT Parsons role to call out his team mates in public.

He's a minimum player with a handful of years. He's in no position to talk about any of the players on the team in this type of situation.

Parsons should be a leader and call out guys that are playing grab a.. and whining. Unfortunately, although we all know it is not Omer's nature to do so, he has probably been coerced to act this way by his agent to force the situation to a head. Parsons is just calling him out on the b.s.

Salary has NOTHING to do with whether a guy should speak out. How good a player you are and whether you are a clubhouse leader does. Parsons is that. He should speak out more and help lead this team.

A good leader would talk to the player one on one, in private. A good leader wouldn't claim he would stay out of the whole situation then in the same breath call out his teammate to the media.

Parsons might have a point, but that's irrelevant because it's not his job to call out anybody.

Asik acting out IN PUBLIC is bad. Parsons calling out his teammate IN PUBLIC is also bad.

Just a thought. What if we trade Asik and Parsons to Miami for Bosh? Parsons will have to play behind LeBron and possibly Battier and Asik will be their starting center.

I hate all this 'Asik needs to be a professional' garbage. In any industry, if you are unhappy with your position at your job, it is perfectly acceptable to go tell your employer you are unhappy and want a change. The NBA is unique since Asik can't just quit, so he tells management he wants a trade. Totally acceptable behavior by Asik. Of course Asik doesn't want to play max 20 minutes a night. ClutchFans needs to stop acting like Lakers fans.

Asik can indeed quit. He just doesn't want to. He likes the contract that the ROCKETS offered him too much.

And management was already aware of his feelings, obviously. And the NBA is unique in that teams have to negotiate trades. The professional thing to do would have been to keep his feelings private--between him and management--and man up like everyone else who doesn't get to start.

Asik requests a trade and then leaks it to the media through his agent.

    Asik refuses to play

Asik visibly sulks on the bench making it harder for the Rockets to trade him.

Asik has behaved very poorly. I am surprised he is being defended here.
