That would at least take Asik, Parsons and a first rounder - and even that wouldn`t necessarily get it done. I also think that this trade would really help Miami, both financially and on the court, but they won`t give up their big three this easy while they are winning. Bosh would be the ideal PF for us, probably on par with Love. He can stretch the floor, rebound, defend, score in bunches, play the 5 and doesn`t need the ball in his hands.
All it takes are a couple teams who really want Asik to get the most for him. I like the option to get a pick back because they opens up the market a bit more to deal with more teams. What bottom level team would be willing to give up their 2014 pick for Asik though?
Lin is not going to re-sign with Houston. After how this organization treats him -- it's not like Houston is a premiere destination to play in the NBA -- probably the opposite. There is zero chance that he'll be here after next season (and likely he'll be gone earlier).
@WojYahooNBA: My header on Asik link should say, "Houston HAS engaged," w/ multiple teams on deals in recent months. They aren't necessarily engaged now.
That's because like Lin, Asik also understand basketball and knew that 2 centers who can't shoot can't play together. The Rockets wanted to try, but it was always doomed for failure. The moral of the story is, professionals like Asik and Lin know basketball. Fans? Not so much. Otherwise you wouldn't have a whole bunch of LOFs who swore up and down that Lin won't get more than 20mpg as a backup PG(dead wrong). Nor a bunch of Rockets fans who swore that twin towers is somehow super awesome while stretch 4s are gimmicky(also dead wrong).
All NBA teams had a chance to sign lin's offer sheet. Who gave him the most? I don't know how long he'll be in Houston but, media markets aside, Lin probably cares far less about the stage he's in as long as he's playing basketball than you do.
I think it will be very difficult to nab a lottery pick in next year's draft. It is so hyped everyone will want to keep their pick. In addition, aren't those high lottery picks usually going to the crappy teams in rebuilding mode. Why do they want to trade away future building blocks for Asik who is good but not a franchise player?
Probably best if we trade for first round pick and then flip the pick to Portland for LaMarcus Aldridge. You know what, I am pretty sure we will actually do that. Something like this, plus the pick to Portland. Asik and DMo go to a team where they can actually get more playing time.
Dang, I would do that trade tbh. Bosh is perfect next to Dwight. He also spaces the floor for the guards to penetrate.
Who is the common denominator in all this team rifts...haven't been 20 games and we having problems...this dude is making me not like the Rockets
Then the Rockets trade the pick at the deadline? Seriously, this would be sooooo much easier if Asik could just wait (patiently, and with a smile) until Dec 15th.
It would be hilarious. In such a situation I'd take Randle. Getting a lottery pick at all would be pretty awesome, even a late one we can get a guy like Mcadoo maybe.
