It's cause Melo is so strong you don't notice the contact. Same problem with Dwight. Literally every time he goes to the rim, he's smacked, held, etc.
Throwing Harden under the bus acting like he doesn't earn his trips to the line just makes him look bush.
Stop snitching, fat boy. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/cnaoVV46hk4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Melo got 11 free throws and Harden got 18... but 4 of those were intentional fouls on Harden at the end of the game another was because Melo hacked-a-Dwight under 2 minutes which led to a technical free throw for Harden Harden also clearly got ran into on the 3 pter which led to 3 free throws Melo also took too many jumpshots
I don't know if it was apparent on the TV, but I was at the game yesterday but I can partially agree. Melo was taking it strong to the basket, especially towards the end of the game and the defense was allowed to be more physical on him, than some of Harden's calls. Still, the better team won and the issue regarding Melo's "4-point play" is moot because Rockets were going to foul no matter what.
Who doesn't want to throw themselves into other players and get a foul called and two fts as a result?
the only free throws harden got in the last quarter were the 2 deliberate endgame fouls, the tech for hack a dwight and the three where shumpert mugged him.
Jonathan Feigen reported that Dwane Casey compared Harden's foul-drawing moves to that of Sam Perkins and another older player. He said that Harden has uses his long arms to rip the ball way out in front when he drives so guys are baited into slapping down on his arms and he would get free throws. The thing is, this is actually a part of Harden's shooting motion and he actually gets and-1s out of this move. Getting fouls like Harden doesn't isn't all that easy. Otherwise, every player would be doing it already.
if i was melo and refs let plays like this go i too would want more calls. he doenst get a lotta calls for w/e reason. even tho he's in new york, strange. but something most fans dont realize about players getting a lotta calls is that its not all flops/bs calls. it takes skill to get to the line 10 times a game. if every paly was officiated perfect then the ft leaders would get 6-7 a game, and melo would get 3-4. they are hard to guard so they're gonna get fouled the most
Oh he wants Harden calls. Like the one where he was hit in the head 3 times late in the 4th Qtr, no call, Knicks score and he's still on the floor when they Rockets bring the ball up? Like that type of (no)call?
I didn't know this was a debate. Durant and Harden are great at ref baiting, and are extremely adept at drawing contact and fouls through situations. Melo and others like Derrick Rose, don't get the same calls and that is partly because they don't really exploit the refs in the same manner as a KD or harden. You gotta sell the contact, as well as actually receive the contact.
