cyberx, did you hear anything about LMA? is portland asking for too much? is there even some probability of getting LMA? I feel LMA is superstar on the right team and one of the premiere pf closers. Something we will need when harden goes iso happy.
Asik's value >> than Anderson's value. Pass Need more back or a 3rd team to get involved to increase the 'return value' to the Rockets. Further, the Rockets want to keep their cap flexibility. If the Rockets are going to take back a contract that is longer than Asik's, they will have to believe the value of that person is better than the opportunity cost of the cap room that becomes available when Asik+Lin come off the books. Morey is in no rush.
First off, gotta say the inside scoops are much appreciated cyberx. Didn't think you'd stick around after Dwight signed but its been awesome having you on board. Now regarding the deal: its appealing sure but our offense is 3rd in the league already, I think acquiring defensive pieces would be the better bet.
Jeff Green would be a nice fit, Anderson would also be good fit LMA would be the best fit IMO but that chance probably cant be had till the trade deadline.
He couldn't be an offensive force going straight up one on one against Andrea last night and spacing had nothing to do with it...Lol..
What happened to Asik playing back up to Dwight? Why isn't that a possibility? As I see it now, we have Jones, Casspi, and Motiejunas able to play the PF position along with Dwight, having Asik come in as back up. Why can't we just roll with that until we get closer to the trading deadline. Is Asik that peeved that he refuses to play? or is Mchale just not wanting to play him? Something isn't adding up.
I dont think a trade is imminent. Rockets have 3 things they will want to satisfy in any trade: 1) Quality PF 2) Quality back C 3) Neither the PF or C interfere with 2015 free agency. Even though I don't think he's a perfect fit next to Howard, Millsap seems to make the most sense for the Rockets. He's an elite finisher around the basket with an ok mid-range and good baseline game. He is NOT a 3 point shooter. Garcia, Harden, Lin, and Parsons have already individually shot more 3s this year than Millsap has in any season. Still.....he would bring energy, defense, and a good mix of offensive skills. Also, his contract expires in 2015 (vs 2016 for Anderson).
Asiks effort against the sixers was poor. He looked disinterested. He hasn't seen any playing time since then. Why should we play a guy that is not trying?
Someone needs to talk to Asik about being a professional. You're getting paid a lot of money. If Asik gave actual effor as a sub, that would maybe be more ideal than trading him. But if he's going to demand trades and pout we need to ship his mopie ass out of here.
Someone needs to tell the Pelicans that post to post passing and playing with another big man are great skills to have.
