Talks about: - Being 6-4 despite not playing well and figuring things out is a good sign - When questioned about Dwight's offensive struggles and TNT attacking him - Does not listen to TNT. Happy with Dwight shutting down the paint, rebounding and his overall defensive impact. - Does not comment much when questioned about SVG and Kerr suggesting an Asik trade on the blocks. - Lin is a much improved player partly due to his confidence levels
He's not going to comment publicly about the Asik situation because its like a game of poker with these GM's. He could have a deal lined up around lunch today, but he needs to be able to convince people that its never going to get done this decade. I'm guessing that there are talks on-going but no deals will be able to be made until Dec 15th at the earliest. You can't trade contracts recently signed this summer until then and even in the smaller deals, you still have to make the salaries work with these deals involved. Even with the Ryan Anderson deal, it's worth their while to wait till Dec 15th cause there is a chance you might be able to get Steimsma as well in the deal if you wait.
Morey: - Hoping to be 7-3 coming out of first 10. Still building on things. Not hitting 3 pointers which will revert and help. Not satisfied where we're at but optimistic. - Worried about minutes. Overtaxing. That is why we added Smith into rotation. Worried about it long term because hoping to be deep play off team. - Canaan played well in his first game in RVG. Terrence going to be good and so is Lamb for OKC. Jones will help us all here.
I hate the nail-biters. We're not playing great. We've played against an easy schedule and a lot of things to work out still. To be 6-4 while working out issues and not playing well bodes well for down the road. I don't pay attention to the TNT crew. I was at the game and came back with the team. Dwight shuts down the paint, rebounds and defends. Offensively, what we get some nights is dominance, some nights where he is just screening and offensive rebounding. It's all good. He's leading the league in rebounding. When he's in the game, we're defending well. We're really happy with where we're at right now. (Asik benching?) Who the coach chooses to play is up to the coach but otherwise we won't comment on it. I heard Steve Kerr was mentioning trades that were great for the Suns. I thought that was good. We thought playing Dwight and Omer together could have worked. I still think it could work but the reality was it wasn't. As you go through a season, you move towards the things that are working and lock in wins. It may become where it's good we've experimented with that so down the road, Omer and Dwight can play together depending on teams we're facing or when we might want to use that lineup again. Lin is playing his best ball since NY. He's attacking, setting up teammates, he revamped his shot, he's finishing with his left hand. He's playing unbelievable basketball and one of the bright spots. Him, Terrence Jones emerging and giving us good minutes, Harden and Dwight playing well. Those have probably been the bright spots. (Is it all health or confidence with Lin?) He's comfortable being with the team. Last year the team was thrown together right before the season with uncertainty on players and things like that. He knows we want him in attack mode all the time and don't want anything else. If they stop your attack, set people up. That's where he's best. He's comfortable helping the team win that way. It's been great. ... He's getting to the rim better than any guard in the league, including Harden. His ability to attack and get to the rim is special and what made that run in NY special and what makes him special right now and why he's very underrated and much better than people thought when we signed him. [Hatchet-man BS] Our schedule does break easy early. We were hoping to be 7-3. ... I liked the way we played in long stretches vs NY last night. We got things we're building on. We haven't hit 3-pointers to this point. That'll usually revert. We're not satisfied where we're at but optimistic how things can go from here. (Worried about minutes?) Yeah, I'm a little worried. We're overtaxing guys. That's why Terrence got in the rotation. Greg Smith went down. We were going to add Greg Smith last night and he got hurt in the first minute. It is something we're worried about long term. The mileage you put on now can hurt you down the road. (Missing yesterday) I was with the team. I like to be with the team early in the season. Our coaching staff is great but I want to be there first hand as issues are worked through. We have things that have been public that we are trying to work through in the best way for the Rockets. Canaan played his first game with the Vipers and played well. (Covington too). We have a lot of positives. Terrence is so long and big and defends well and can finish really well. No way he doesn't help us the whole year.
Current Ranking : Howard :5th C (can be 1st if HOU play him in a right way) Harden : 1st SG Parsons : 7th SF Lin : 12th PG The Rockets is underachieving. The chemistry is not enough.
and you know what I like about this? Howard gets to the line like the best franchise player @any position. Harden gets to the line the most for SGs. Lin gets to the line like a top 7 point g. I still think dwight will come around to shooting FT at around 55%, which is huge
Naaaaaah, bro, don't get lazy on us. Recap the Hatchet Man pee-pee game too. No picking and choosing.
Considering Harden is essentially a PG and Lin is a SG, the Ranking can be : Harden : 2nd PG (after CP3) LIN : 8th SG It annoys me to see the 3PT% and Assist is not as good as last year. Signing Howard is supposed to improve the offense in the front-court. Instead, it gets worse. Hack Howard thing kills the Rockets rhythm.

I did enjoy the Steve Kerr "Channing Frye for Omer Asik" mention last night (mentioned in the Morey interview as "trades that are good for Phoenix"). I would have had some fun with that as one of the other announcers: "If I'm Morey and you call me up with that weak trade proposal, I'd say, 'OK, you'll give me Channing Frye....aaaaaaaaaaaand....?"
i love this tony hatchet man guy. who is this guy? he sounds like a combination of a soprano cappo and a more knowledgeable zack lowe! this man has the balls, unlike any other local journalist to ask the tough questions. bravo mr. tony. (still not sure if i'm serious?)
