i haven't seen it yet but Howard does get his post up too far from the basket. And i agree with what Barkley said at half time he should run and demand the ball on the center of the paint. And his move is too predictable now he moves to the outside and tries to do a hook shot. I think Howard should use the glass more often but when he does he throws it way too hard
Dwight probably thinks they're picking on him, or yelling at him, so he's not gonna listen. All for naught.
Not true, it took a long time for guys to get okay at it and they would forget about Yao for some time. Specially when we couldn't buy a bucket
I really doubt Charles or Shaq taught him anything new though. I mean the guy was working with Mchale and Hakeem... At some point he's just going to have to play to his strengths...which is still good enough for him to average over 20 points and lead a team to the finals...
Thought they had good points, but I'd be shocked if Dwight hasn't been hearing these same things for his whole career now. It's just a matter of applying himself. A lot of people think Shaq and Barkley are "hating" on Howard, but I can tell they really want him to succeed, they are just frustrated.
Maybe mcfail should run the rockets plays off 2k14 lol it works wonders for me howard averages 20 a game for me ;-)
So Shaq and Barkley actually want Howard to succeed. I also think refs are not calling so many fouls that defenders are committing. It comes with reputation. They know Dwight bricks shots so when he misses badly, they think he's just missing the shot.
Both. He doesn't want to be great, which is stupid. World's biggest baby Only in the weak East. Ditto '07 CLE and '01 PHI
The reason Dwight has not post game is because he has no lower body strength. All of his strength is in his upper body. His lower body can't coordinate with his upper body, which is why he struggles to get post up position, to get post position you must use your lower body not your upper body. The next time you watch Dwight play just watch him when he tries to post up. Look at how small his legs are compared to the other centers, he has no balance at all. The only way for Dwight to truly improve his post game is to lay off the weight lifting and focus on his lower body. I'm surprised Dream/Mchale haven't noticed this yet SMH.
Or as McHale keeps telling him: "Get low. Drop that butt." I don't know if he's trying to emulate Dream who posts pretty much straight up. Dream though doesn't use his power as much as his speed. There were games early in the season and preseason when Dwight would seal his man deep in the post but we couldn't get the pass in to him. Maybe that's why he's trying to post so far from the basket. Anyway I think he should just do his face-up bank shot and trust TJones to go get the rebound if he does miss. Two possible scenarios if Dwight keeps messing up: He gets frustrated and team goes away from him. Or it humbles him and he begins to listen and play the PnR more.
Rockets Legend Calvin Murphy Sees Crucial Flaw In Howard’s FT Form Source: http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2013/11/14/rockets-legend-calvin-murphy-says-howards-ft-woes-an-easy-fix/
CB4 doesn't know anything dream doesn't. I'm thinking dream has done everything he can but we have to come to grips with the fact that Dwight might never develop a fadeaway jumper. It was maddening watching Andrea and Hawes D up and block him like that.
Dwight got manhandled by Andrea Bargnani. If I'm a guard I'm not throwing it in there for you until you figure some stuff out.
Yeah, that shocked me a bit. The bookend to that factoid was, "Demand the ball!" They were both unique, Hall of Fame caliber big men, and I'm sure it drives them crazy seeing Dwight not make the best use of his obvious talent.
