I wouldn't say we are "extremely unbalanced." We've just got very young PFs. and inconsistent chemistry going with Dwight right now. But man, both Lin and Parsons are having their best seasons so far, imo. We need to refind our running game, and Harden seems gimpy, still. I mean, think about it. This OKC team is unbalanced. They really have no center, and not much to back up Ibaka with at PF. It's not like they have a post game all that much. And, wrt to this tangent topic arising from this game, I think it's also about GSW is still underrated by this bbs, and I don't know why. They added Iguodala, too.
honestly I am terrified of them this year because of Iguodala. Iguodala always wins his matchup with Harden so much so it is kind of embarrassing.
It's impossible for me to watch OKC without thinking of how they'd look with Harden still on the team.
I was one of those people underrating them. My reasoning was that the way we played them last year, pretty much crushing them 3-4 times last year, and them losing Landry, and Jack, picking up Iggy wasn't going to make them that much better. I didn't take into account that: It took Toney going down for them to realize that Iggy is a point forward I expect him to be the PG for the 2nd unit even when Toney comes back. Barnes and Thompson are better; Bogut, Lee Healthy. Jackson might be a better offensive coach than I ever realized. Rockets might crush them again this year, its all about match-ups, but with the way rockets are playing now...
How does Brooks end up with Durant and Westbrook on the bench at the same time in the 4th when the other team is going on a run. It makes no sense especially since he doesn't take them out of the game at the same time.
Before the season started I wasn't even worried about this match-up because I felt every one else on the roster was the same or better than anyone on GSW's roster. Now after watching a handful of games I'm there with you... Rockets work so hard for points outside of Harden it's distressing.
me thinks it had something to do with Durant getting his 5th foul with 2 minutes left in the 3rd, while Westbrook needed his typical beginning of the 4th rest. what do you think....
Rockets are "pretenders" compared to these other teams. SA OKC LAC GS So 5th at best. That's not taking into account Portland(6-2), Minnesota(6-3), and Dallas(5-3). And that's not including Phoenix(5-3), Memphis(3-5), New Orleans(3-6). Okay, I just listed about the whole Western Conferencep) but you get the point.
And that doesn't count Boston going full tank mode and trading Rondo to Anthony Davis for Tereke Evans.
Portland hasn't beat anyone though. Minnesota COULD factor into the top tier of the west but I think the Rockets are right there with these teams talent wise at least. They only lost to the Clippers and the 2nd time they did show the ability that they could play with them. It's not like they were just outclassed by anyone yet.
As of now, this appears to be true. Once the Asik trade goes down, we'll see who we get and how much we improve off of that. I still have faith!
