This team will continue to have problems guarding big players with shooting range. Howard isn’t going to slide out that far, so NYK was running that high pick with Bargnani getting the ball back at the top of the key all night, ending up multiple times with Houston’s PG on him. Also, even if Howard continues getting the ball in the post, he has no reliable post moves. When he tries to overpower his opponent, he is an undersized center and doesn’t have the bulk like Shaq or moves like Hakeem. I see that when he tries to do that little awkward hook shot, his elbows are bent, and his motion is not straight up, but a circular left or right motion, thus he doesn’t get full extension on those shots. I think his biggest advantage is his athletic abilities, and that works best against same size or smaller opponents during plays that allow him to be in motion. Howard is a more athletic and muscular version of a Tyson Chandler. Good defensive abilities, poor offensive options. Posting him up is too predictable and a long term dead end, unless he develops a more reliable post game and improves his free throws.

The two best players from last night, Howard and Lin, struggled tonight. But, I’m glad Lin kept on shooting. On his 3s, his legs left him, AND he got robbed by his own foot! But hey, he ended up with a decent game anyways; his scoring was definitely needed and he kept the TOs down. He’s like a high revving engine that takes a bit of time to rev up. Bev is like a high revving engine that is always revved up. I really like these two guys. :D

Nice games by the main three from last year, Harden, Parsons, and Lin. I don’t know where this team is going to end up in April, but I’m gonna try to enjoy all this basketball.

We played better tonight then last night, but the defense is still farsical. The only time we looked good is when Dwight is sitting. His post up plays makes Harden and others to stagnante. He just is not good enough to sarafice Harden and other wing players games to post him up and take them out.

Dwight needs to learn to feed off those guys instead of forcing them into jump shooters. He aint Shaq, Hakkem, Yao, Ewing Admiral or wilt that you can surround him with Shooters and expect him to dominate in the block.

Positives was Harden despite his leg problems was huge in the fourth. He had 11 points in the last 5 minutes to carry us.

Harden, Parsons and Lin combine for almost 80 of the teams 109 points.

Houston's guards pretty much shut down NY's guards....that was the winning factor tonight. Would have been a blowout if Houston just made a few more 3s.

I though his D was really good today. Besides Melo and some hot 3-point shooting by Bargnani, the Rockets played good defense on everyone else.

He free shoot is really mentality problem.... It's like a good FT shooter and a bad FT shooter taking turns to materialize in his body.
