But the flip side of the equation is giving away Asik for a contract-year guy whose numbers are inflated by a fast-break team's pell mell style.
Asik for Shumpert? Asik for Shumpert? Knicks are shopping him, already have a potential deal for Farried. We can give up Asik for Shumpert and maybe picks if they have any. Shumpert could be that defensive stopper we are looking for.
How do you get the contracts to match? Besides what would the Knicks do when Tyson gets back? They can't start them both. If you think the Dwight and Asik Twin Towers are bad wait until you see Asik and Chandler.
Oh, and this. We don't really desperately need Shumpert. What we do need the most is a legitimate PF with a J that can also stretch the floor.
I wish we could do a James Harden for Kevin Love trade. I feel like Bev can start as a defensive minded 1, with Jeremy as a ball handling/scoring/penetrating 2, with KLove pick-n-pop and floor stretching 4 and Dwight running the pick-n-roll. Honestly at this point, I'm not sure who this trade would benefit more.. I feel like Minnesota would say no.
Minnesota would for sure say no. They already have Kevin Martin, and more importantly, Kevin Love is their franchise guy so they are not giving him up even for Harden.
Apparently the cavs and kings are talking due to their slow starts. Don't know if I'd want anyone available from those teams. I'd take Landry but he's injured, a good post game and mid range to play along with Dwight. Regardless if Asik is moved it will be dec 15 and I expect a move to be made. We have to be ready and gel together before the playoffs.
Rox out: Asik in: T. Young, Wroten Bos out: JGreen in: Asik Phi out: Young, Wroten in: J Green, DMo We do it to lose Asik and get Young as to start at PF. Bos needs a C and is willing to give up Green b/c it's easier to find a new SG than a C. Phi does it because...their GM liked Dmo when he was with the Rockets? Maybe he thinks Green is worth losing Young.
Washington is supposedly down on Gortat if their season doesn't pick up...they might be a buyer on Asik - they seem like a realistic buyer with playoff expectations this year... http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/nba/rumors/post?id=17904
