No, I stated the reason I brought up this up because it ties in to Crane holding out for money that he likely won't spend on the team and furthermore is looking extremely likely he won't get anyway. All the comments coming out from the providers seem to indicate there will be no "overnight guy" success.
You don't think Granville as a fan should demand some money be spent by now. You guys can't continually defend these as just business decisions. Refman I'm not picking on you I just think the pile on on Granville is not fair. The kept his and another team off TV an spent no money.
I was going to post happy page 100 This thread should be required reading for fans of all sports to help better understand team financing
Can we at least wait until the offseason really kicks in in earnest before we voice that complaint? I'm pissed the Astros haven't won the 2014 World Series yet!!!! Beyond that, the Astros haven't made any secrets about what they're doing..about what their plan is. Luhnow has been absolutely transparent that they weren't going to spend significant money on free agents until there was a core to place those guys around. That shouldn't surprise anyone.
A little bit of reading comprehension on his behalf would help. If he doesn't want people "piling on", then he should make dumb posts.
The article he referenced isn't from the future. The gm says the team sucks so bad you have a chance to start here.
The article he referenced is talking about the future. It's talking about this coming offseason. About their plans for this offseason...which just began really.
It just began. They're literally in the winter meetings right now. Name me some free agents who have signed with teams yet. This is completely irrational at this point.
What are you arguing about? Granville just gave his negative spin on the GM's attempt at positive spin. He is already fed up with management so he doesn't want to hear it. It is spin.
I don't want to relitigate the thread but all things money are related. Tjr station is a big part of financing
You wrote: And the article he posted talks about spending money this offseason....it just began. So no...I don't think Granville or anyone else with a functioning brain should be demanding that, by now, they, or any other MLB franchise, should have spent some money.
Free agent signing period does not begin until after the World Series and this year the official date was 11/05. Things generally don't start heating up until the meetings and even then, oftentimes it is a feeling out period. Nothing wrong with expressing dissatisfaction with management, however, if the dissatisfaction is that the owner says they will increase payroll and as of 10 days into the free agent signing period they have yet to increase payroll, then most fans will be forever dissatisfied.
right...which literally just began. you're honestly criticizing the Astros for having not signed a free agent yet? Really? Can you name some teams that have signed free agents so far?
The gm is talking about giving starters who can't make other teams a shot in Houston. Thay means cheap payroll or do you disagree
