We need a ligitimate starting PF. Not sure why it's so hard for rockets fans to see that this is our biggest need.
I don't see why McHale can't get the Twin Towers to work. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan coexist fine on the Clips. Asik should play center and Dwight should play PF. I see Dwight as a Griffin with longer arms and better D.
Detroit needs a SF. Parsons would be perfect on that team. Hell I would throw Lin in the deal as well. Monroe is so damn skilled!
Griffin "can" make midrange shots but he's not that great at it nor does he take that many. He mostly plays PnR with CP3 at the top of the key, which Dwight can easily do with both Harden or Lin. Blake is great at rolling to the basket. Howard's issue is that he keeps trying to be a post player. If they had run Lin + Howard pick and rolls all 4th and OT Rockets would have won it.
I'm not worried about Asik's attitude. The guy is a very soft spoke nice guy.... However, I am worried about the team sort of being in limbo right now. It seems like they are really struggling to find out who they are, and what they are going to be about so far this year, and Asik's situation isn't helping... in fact its probably hurting. I think once the trade finally happens, it will be like a cloud lifts from the sky. Not that Asik is a bad guy or anything, its just that the team will know that this is the team we have to roll with now for the future, and everything wont be such in limbo.
He started off slow, but 4 minutes is not nearly enough time to make a call on a player. I think McHale swapped him for Casspi, because the 76ers went small ball in their 2nd unit. I hate when he tries to match to the other team and not dictate the style of game himself.
Match ups. Hard to put in Asik when 76's play their centers on 3 point line. We hurt on outside defense
Blake can shoot and Jorden is not that bad at mid range either. Both have awesome jump hook. Both can jump like 4 feet and catch any ball within 10 feet. And having CP3 as the feeder doesn't hurt either. we have non of those.
Lin is put to the bench also and he responded by playing hard and showing how important he is to the team. I hope Asik can do the same.
I think Morey is just being patient. He knows Asik needs to go, but he is simply waiting for a good deal.
Griffin can step out and hit a jump shot at least somewhat respectably. Dwight cannot. Not a good comparison.
