Just because our coach is not so good

 

Agreed, this team barely sets screens for anyone. Is there any data on how often this team sets screens or score on PNR attempts etc VS last year? and compare to when Lin was on Knicks for PNR?

 

This team needs a more assertive coach, one that commands respect and will rein in the egos, manage the youth & inexperience, and maximize talent through sound x's & o's.

 

True. At least for the last two games, Lin's contract actually looks very good. Playing like a max contract player at a discounted price.

 

34 points, 12 assists and 8 turnovers does not negate 36 points on 85% shooting.

 

People calling Lin out for JA's defense haven't been paying attention. There were several three buzzer beating fadeway js that JA knocked down tonight while covered. He was just hot.

Could he have done better? Sure, but let's give credit to where credit's due. JA was on tonight.

 

I think more teams DON'T foul when a team has the ball and are down by three in the dying seconds of a game. It's kind of a cop out... A chump move... I know it's legal _ but it's a lot of teams that just don't do it. And I'm really not upset at McHale for not telling the team to foul and not let them get off a three. I would hate if the Rockets were in that situation and a team did it to them. BUT since we lost _ he probably should have.

 

I agree for the most part, my biggest problem with this team other than D is the lack of movemnt off the ball.

Aren't any of the players smart enough to disobey coach (foul up 3 at the end of reg) and win the bloody game?

Saddest thing is... I wondered this... LAST NIGHT AGAINST THE RAPS.

 

Spurs coach pop manages his players to perfection. have to learn how to do that. Even though that is only 1 coach - mchale needs to learn.

I meant specifically in those end game situations. When

1. Neither Parsons nor Garcia are shooting well at all,

2. You have a Lin shooting Steph Curry percentages from 3 on good volume and he's putting up a monster stat-line

You draw the play for Lin. Instead, Lin was standing at the corner on each play. I'm no LOF, but that shows a very obvious lack of trust from Mchale.

 

Nnsense. He got hot at the start of the game because of the lacksidasical defense. In the NBA you let a shooter get hot with easy shots it's game over.

 

Major difference. Harden gets to the line...ALOT.

That is a big difference because he gets easy free points AND softens the defense as players get in foul trouble and just start playing more passively.

 

You must be watching the wrong game....you sure Anderson had all those points on JLin? Must be smoking some good stuff...:grin:

 

You people are idiotic for thinking fouling is a good option. That shot had less then a 5% chance of going in. Why would we want to play the free throw game when our team has been horrid from the line?
