Normally, Harden doesn't even try in defense with the exception of the last 2 games he played. Also, Lin could have definitely done a few things better but it is not about blaming players or pointing fingers tonight. This loss was obviously on the coaching. Some people called McHale out in 2011 for the same issues we are facing 2 ****ING YEARS AFTER!! Tonight's game will hopefully help you understand that whatever we achieved last year, it was despite of McHale.

True....tonight was a perfect match for him against an undersized 6-3 guard. Great players will always put up points. He was just on fire tonight.

The guy played almost the entire game and was great for 3 quarters. in the last he played from the 8 minute mark and the OT. He gave lin the team tonight. What more do you want him to do?. His defensive rotations were terrible, but lack of trust?

It's kind of a problem when you "space" the floor with players who isn't making 3s and don't cut to the basket. This happens a lot with Harden, too. When the 3s are not falling, you have to make sure your team is not playing 4-on-5 and 3-on-5 by either:

    1) Set a ******* screen with your useless player to take out a defender - Seriously this is not that hard.

    2) Cut to the basket and make them guard your useless player with the threat of a layup/dunk - Seriously this is not that hard.

Greg Smith could do this. Asik could do this. Nothing is worse than having players they don't have to guard parked out on the 3-point line. Even players who fumble interior passes 1/3 of the time create better "spacing" than cold 3-point shooters parked stationary out on the 3-point line.

WTF is this standing around and let the other team play 5-on-2 cr*p? With Harden at least you can argue that he wants to go iso, waves off screens, and prefers the kickout over the interior pass on his drives. Lin uses screens and prefers the interior pass. If you can't make 3s, cut, goddamnit, especially if Lin is handling the ball.

WHY is our backup PG the best 3 point shooter on the team? Does that make sense? Lin played like Harden maybe a little better with 12 assists but turnovers the same. Maybe Lin is the best SG in the league. where was Asik . where is G Smith DMO do we really only play 8 players this season

What was McHale supposed to do? He put the ball in his best perimeter offensive player with Harden out. It isn't McHale's fault, and it isn't fair to expect A bench player to win the game for you (Lin). Good teams win these games without their star player (Harden) by playing defense and not turning the ball over.. That is why the Rockets right now are not a good team.

Because McHale thought DMo, Brewer, Brooks, Greg Smith were all injured and he had no other man to use.

The guy didn't even play and you're still dumping on him, lol.
    Just sad.
Hating on Harden isn't going to make Lin's defense any better.

I think that's a McHale problem...he always rides his best offensive player to death (see Harden/Lin).

Can't believe the Rox lost this game. I mean, this early season is filled with former Rox players trying to kill their previous team or teams that lost star players to the Rox trying to kill the Rox....ie 76rs Anderson, Rapturds Lowry, and the whole Laker Scrubs - vs DH Rockets. I'm sure I'm missing something.

If only mcfail played AB to gauge whetehr he'd give Lin a breather or stop Wroten's dominance of Bev.

Like I stated before, it is called time management. If some of your players need longer rest (especially after a double-overtime game), you need to use timeout, longer rotation, and do whatever you can to prolong the game when your key players are resting. Coach McHale is simply not doing that.

Dude is either seriously just hating or he's letting the trolls drag him down to their level.

I am glad Harden got a rest especially after playing OT and this game went into overtime as well.

Jeremy Lin played great. Classic Linsanity game. High points, High Assists, High Turnovers. I am happy for him that he has got so much more confidence in his 3 point stroke.

Mchale was severely outcoached. He is an extremist he is stubborn starting the TT lineup to begin the season for too long and then uses Asik for 4 minutes. Seriously?

When we had 6.6 seconds left I was almost 100% certain he was going to ISO Lin for the last shot which would have been the right thing to do since he was on fire but he decides to get creative and actually call a play which he never does and it fails miserably. That was very telling to me when LOF's say that Mchale doesn't trust and have faith in Lin there was some proof right there because Mchale would have ISO'd Harden on that last play whether Harden was hot or cold.

Harden cannot be blamed for our defensive struggles tonight. We really missed his excellent free throw shooting late in games and his offensive execution late in the game as well. At least he is fresh to play tomorrow against the Knicks.

Anderson shot 6/6 from the 3 point line, including multiple well contested shots. Lin defended more than a few of those just fine, he just hit them.

Anderson also burned Parsons, Garcia and Casspi on multiple possessions at the rim after switches, more than a couple on circus shots.

Contrary to popular belief, a player does NOT defend one single other player for 48 full minutes.

And the difference between the two is Lin *tried* to defend him *every* time. Did you see many back cuts that he didn't chase down? Did you see him *NOT* trying to close out or putting a hand in people's faces?

Is Lin being paid a MAX contract?

Exactly what kind of standard are you holding him to in his 2nd full season on a NBA roster?

They are truly dead after so many OTs. Thanks to McHale!

No point in stating facts, torocan. The haters will just keep repeating "But Anderson is a D Leager!" ad nauseam.

True. That last dagger by Anderson was well defended but it was just his night.
